Who actually handles the manufacturing of Neo cartridges?

I've asked this before and surprisingly, no one knew the answer!

Does SNK-Playmore manufacture the MVS and home carts as well as the packaging? Or is it an outside manufacturing firm that produces them on a contract basis?

Did SNK own its own manufacturing facilities back in the day? If they did, are they still using these facilities?

Shawn, mods? Anyone? Answer my question!

Yes, I think so. Playmore makes their own games for Neo Geo. If a third party company is making the game, Playmore is gotta approve and license the game for the Neo Geo.

I'm not referring to the actual programming and code, but who actually produces the rom board and cart cases? Who assembles them and who packages them?

As a person in the electronics field, I'm wondering too. I'll bet they contract manufacture their stuff out. Its cheaper than to build your own fab house unless you plan to sell millions.

I agree. There is no doubt in my mind that the curcuit board and the cartridge casing are manufactured at other factories.

Playmore is like the Dr. Pepper of the video game industry.

At least I would think so. When you're small you have to get someone already doing that type of work to do it for a smaller cost than running a whole factory for a limited quantity item would cost. Dr. Pepper was back and forth between Coke and Pepsi as to who was bottling Dr. Pepper and 7 Up.

Only a company doing VOLUME like Nintendo (100K pieces of each game and up) could make their own, EVERYONE else outsources.
