I'm going to get it on the Neo, but I also want it on other platforms. Playmore can get more money that way.

I think they shouldn't abandon it, but its been a while now, and PS2 is the reigning king.

There's money to be had in that there mountains!

Despite the fact that I am 100% preordering the AES, I would to see SvC ported to the GameCube.

It would be a great, FINAL FINAL FINAL farewell to the great-games powerhouse known as the Dreamcast.

Border Down is nice...but an SNK send off? That would be even better.

Neo4all/AES Alpha Release

An alpha version of Neo4all/AES, the NEO4ALL fork for playing Neo Geo AES/MVS ROMs under Dreamcast, has been released.

In order to play the games with the emulator, you first need to convert your Neo Geo game roms with included conversion tool.

At the moment, 10 large games have a preliminary prefetch, and play fine:
- Art Of Fighting.
- Blazing Star.
- Captain Tomaday.
- Magical Drop III.
- Metal Slug X.
- Shock Troopers.
- Aero Fighters 3 / Sonic Wings 3.
- SNK vs Capcom - SVC Chaos.
- Tecmo World Soccer '96.
- Zed Blade / Operation Ragnarok.

Games below 16MBytes can be played without problems. Chui has tested 44 games, all of which play fine. Other games that are listed on the compatability list can be loaded, but you will have a lot of CD-ROM load time.

As always, for more information, be sure to read the included README.txt.

I couldn't find the exact thread, but I remember some newbie starting a thread on how he'd pay someone here to get SVC working on his DC

I guess that's a reality now

I wouldn't know though as I have no idea how to do this

I believe the game is to big for emulation on the dreamcast. Only the smaller games worked if i remember correctly. Your gay for bumping this btw.

I believe the game is to big for emulation on the dreamcast.

I believe it uses some MMU management supported by the SH4 processor, so that it only loads certain rom-files into the memory, as demanded by the game.

The result is that games beyond the 16 mg barrier of the DC can be loaded, but in order for the game to access the exact files as needed, its reads from the disc and dumps them into memory... which places alot of strain on the CPU and memory to manage garbage collection and constant refreshment of the memory banks.

They get around this by "optimizing" the load sequence for various games, at least, thats what I can get from reading the documents. I haven't tested it out myself, but I hear older MAME rom sets are needed, and the speed of the emulation is pretty decent.

The DC emulation forums has more:

http://www.dreamcast-scene.com/index.php/Main/Neo4All-AES

Tutorial for all you dumb fucks to use for getting SVC to work on the DC.

It isnt perfect and loads stuff like SFX during the match whenever they come into memory, but hey, for anything smaller it works fine.

Give chui time and it will be awesome.

Theyre working on getting prefetches done for each game so it works better.
