I could be mistaken but I'm under the impression that the optical joystick is more of the nature of a perhaps more precise control. It might also have the feel of an arcade cabinet joystick. For example, the MAS controller I have has stiff resistence when using it meaning you need to put a little more strength into it when controlling a game. The type of joystick you would find in the arcade on a Neo MVS machine, or say any Capcom CPS cabinets is a lot softer and less resistent.

Then again I'm probably wrong, but I'm taking a guess. If it is what I said, then I think I might look into another controller with that.

The thing you might like about the perfect 360 is that it won't make a loud clicking sound at all and will probably feel a little smoother.

I think they also offer a choice between button types. The competition buttons are nice because they have a flatter convex button that feels a lot smoother. The usual buttons (I think ultimate) have that unnecessary scooped out, concave shape.

I have two Super pro sticks with 360 controllers from MasSystems and they are the best. Honestly, the extra $35.00 may not be worth the money unless you participate in huge tournaments. I compete in MVC2 tournies and many arcades have 360 sticks. These are much tighter than the regular stick and do not click when you push the joystick in a specific direction. It makes doing tiger knee motions a little easier as well. The 360's also last longer, and are less likely to break.

360's really are great, but if you don't want to spend the extra money go with the competition stick. It's great also (just not quite as good as the p360)

I like the clicks and I heard the p360's don't have defined corners, making it an ultra precise stick. I'd skip out on the p360 is I was you and just go for the competition.

It makes Kim's special easier to do.
