Okay, I went from AES playing to MVS playing. Now I am going to get back into NEO GEO AES only. So what I would like to know is what AES games are really worth getting this late into the game. I plan on only getting Japanese games and systems. I would like to get a moddified (S-Video, Stereo, Debug, Component Video(Yellow connector)). I know it will be a lot but since all my bills are now handled and I have some income coming in at the end of the month, I want to start saving up for this stuff. Any advice or recomendations would be greatly appreciated. I understand it is up to me for which games I like, but I want to know what you ALL think I should get. Please post your recomendations here.

Thanks!

Gamefan,

You definitely have to get:

US KOF2k AES (by NGF, 100 copies only), $900 shipped
Metal Slug 2 (JPN/US) - rare title, $1100+ for now

You can't go wrong with those two titles

Maybe you'll need to pray for some miracles to happen --Dad

If you're budget-concious, I'd go with:

Fatal Fury Special
Samurai Shodown II
King of Fighters 98
King of Fighters 2000

The slugs are overrated. Just ask the many people who bought MS3 and got tired of it.

Hell, Tonk couldn't hold onto a slug for more than a week before getting tired of it.

On the other hand, not as many people feel teh same way about MotW or KoF 98.

For me in particular, I'll keep my motw, kofs, SS 1~4, bs, p, nm, ke,lb, s3, stss, etc because I find them all awesome. But yeah, metal slug is not that great. fun, but overrated as hell.

It depends on your "wallet-size"

But I would say:

Last Blade 2
Samurai Shodow 4
Any Metal Slug you can get (I think X and 3 are easy to get)
Any of the Real Bout series
Mark of the Wolves
and....Ninja Masters <img src="graemlins/drool.gif" border="0" alt="[Drool]" />

You left out Kizuna Encounter!!!

And I'll agree with Carlson - Metal Slug 1 on another system is a good investment. The AES/MVS slug lacked some features that made this a great home game, such as the training school.

That's a nice advice.
Infact,as far as playing games and not collecting them, you have to choose the BEST version of them and so go with the neogeo version or other port of that neogame to save money or because you like the port more..

We should so add the split between neogeo cart and cd games...try:

Magical drop 2
Neo turf master
both on CD VERSION...they are cheap but way more better than cart version..or you can spend hundreds of $ and get the beautiful cart version of those...
