Are you a Neo fan in Florida? I know of only one in my town, I know there has to be more in this state. Just post in this thread and give an approximate location, what your area is like arcade-wise, and if you know a lot of Neo fans.

I live about an hour and a half south of the Tampa area, and there is onle lonely arcade in my town. It only has one MVS cabinet with Metal Slug and I think Puzzle Bobble. I'd like a little more competition, and might be willing to drive a little to get there.

I live in Largo close to Seminole. I know of 1 mvs with Sengoku 3 in a Roadhouse restaurant down the road from my house. There is also an Mvs at a laundrymat near here with Art of Fighting and Puzzle Bobble I think. Those are the only ones I know of now.

I live in Orlando. I'm the only person I know of here that collects Neo stuff, but most of my friends and I head out to the arcades to play on the MVS. We have a pretty tight arcade here called "Rocky's Replay" and then there is "disney quest" (5 story arcade and VR) and a few other local 'cades.

I live in St. Pete. The only Neo fans I know of is me and a guy I work with. Don't usually have time to go to arcades. That's why I'm saving up to get a Candy cab for my house. I already have a 6 slot MVS board and 11 games for it. Just need the cab!!

I'm in Jacksonville; for the time being. Tampa's where I originally from. Anyway, I live a few blocks from Regency Square Mall; which used to have Samurai IV; buts it's long gone now. Last time I visited, they had a Hyper Neo Geo with Beast Busters (I believe that was the name of the game.) there. No 2D fighters whatsoever though; be it SNK or Capcom.

I went to high school in Jacksonville. I've still got a significant part of my collection there too. I'm only around for part of the summer though.

I live in Tamarac around the Ft. Lauderdale area and I can honestly say that I haven't seen an MVS cabinet for over a year and if I did it was a game not even worth remebering. I got alot of my buddies into neo games so I have some competition but not much. Anyone out there wanna go at some KOF?

Awesome, there's a few more. What I'd like to do is get enough people comitted and meet up somewhere. Would any of you be up to meeting? I just need to iron out the details.

I lived in Tampa for years... went to USF from 1996 - 2000. Shame, as there was never any Neo people around there... well maybe one other, but he went back to Japan. Most people had no idea what the games were on my cab, but I converted a lot of people into belivers. There is one shop in Tampa that sells MVS games out the front door, although unless you know him and do business with him, he will rip you off on the prices. Tampa is a very dismal place indeed for Neo Geo... no sir I didn't like it.

Hey I'm in Tampa. I haven't been to the arcades in a while, but I remember a bowling alley that used to have at least 3-4 MVS cabs a few years ago. I have a candy four slot with Sengoku 3, Shock Troopers, SSII, Last Blade, Metal Slug X, and Garou.

Well it seems like most of us live closer to the Tampa area. Maybe we can organize this and make something happen.

@Heidern98:

I graduated from Taravella. I go back down to Ft. Lauderdale every month or so. Doesn't Grand Prix Race-O-Rama have any MVS machines? Or have they turned their backs on SNK too? South Florida is My home at heart. I Live in Orlando for my current Job. But it's worth it.

[edit]
I'd also be up for meeting up with some Neo fans. Maybe once my home arcade is finished we can do it here....(of course Im a LONG way off from that right now)

On a sepreate note, to those in Tampa....fans of Rabbit in the moon by chance? My name says it all..

Hey-
Good to see a Florida Post here. Billy Pitt and I get together regularely- we're in the Orlando-Area. We've been in contact through DHP for about six years and coincidentally I moved down here from NY. If you guys want to game, let me know, and we'll have a mini-Shodown. I know of two other people as well who are Neo-freaks, and hav been around for a while.

Well Halluci-Nation, I am sorry to say that unfortunatly Grand Prix has indeed turned there backs on SNK. The last game I saw there was KOF99 about two years ago..... And of course the controllers were FUBARed. I remeber making trips down to Grand Prix to play KOF all the time. Now all they have that is worth playing, I have at home on my DC or PS2 (Soul Calibur, MvC2, DoA2 etc.) They had 94 - 99 around there respective years. They also had RB2 and alot of other Fatal Fury's but no more. No Capcom vs. SNK 1 or 2. Not even one MVS there anymore. In fact I can't find hardly any MVS cabinets in any arcades anymore. If I do its never an up to date fighter. I'm lucky if I find Fatal Fury 2 if I look hard enough. I guess the fact that alot of arcades have closed down and also the fact that SNK has slowed down alot is helping me to not find any. All well. Hey, you guys know any good neo hot spots in Florida (besides our homes with AES and CD systems :D ) Tell some places and games along with them.

Anybody have a home in the Tampa area who could host a get-together? Or know of a good place? I would even drive up to Orlando if there was a good arcade we could gather at.

I've been to Disney Quest, but if I remember correctly they had no Neo cabs at all.

I'm going to check the bowling alley this weekend to see what it has. If it has no Neo Geo, I wouldn't be against having some people over to my place. My place is small, but it has room enough for my candy and few people to get their asses kicked Neo Geo style...

I currently go to college at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. Does that make me a Floridian Neo-Geo fan (even though I'm orginally from Alexandria, VA)? Anyways, all my Neo stuff is currently in cold storage back at home in Virginia (with the exception of the AES system, which'll soon be sent to !Arcade! for repairs and modifications). I've scoured all over Boca Raton, but alas, not ONE place has an MVS cab (and many of the arcades I visited around here were pretty lame. Where are the 2-D fighters, people?!?).

To tide over my anticipation for when I come home, I have a Dreamcast with a whole bunch of fighters (KOF Evolution, LB2, MOTW, and Capcom vs SNK 2 included). I always love hooking it up to the big screen TV in the student lounge; pure gaming bliss.
