Any of you ever had a conversation like this?

FRIEND: Hey! I just got a Nintendo GameCube with Pikmin and Super Monkey Ball -I'm set!
YOU: Oh yeah? Well, I got the King of Fighter 2001.
FRIEND: Nice. Did you get anything else?
YOU: Well, no... It was $295.
FRIEND: $300!!!
YOU: No... $295.
FRIEND: What are you, nuts? I bought the Cube and the games for under that!
YOU: I like the Neo Geo.
FRIEND: Well I like cars but I'm not going out and buying a classic Ferrari. Jesus, and I thought I was into games.
YOU: Do you want to come over and play it?
FRIEND: And accidently trip on the thing, break it, and owe you $300?
YOU: ...$295.
FRIEND: -Forget that.

Infact just last week at work i told them about my kof2001 game and how much it cost and they said why did i not get a X box instead. i said cause i dont like the X box and they thought it very idiotic to spend so much on one game. they are quite correct ;)

oh yes ! many times... nobody can understand my passion for the Neo (except you).

I'm not talking about it anymore. it's kind of secret now. but thanks god, internet exist and I can share my passion with all of you.

our community is maybe small - but who care - we're strong, and beleive me or not,if they released kof2001 (and coming tittles), it's because of you, me, all of us (and shawn of course).

sometimes I feel that I belong to a secret society. XBOX, gamecube, PS2... I prefer much more to put $300 in brand new game like the coming slug 4 than any new system. Neo is my priority - and you can understand that, isn't it ?! :D

I dont spend as much on Neo-Geo as you guys and I still get called nuts on a regular basis :confused: Seems it comes with the teritory...

Of course, all the time. My friends thinks I'm nuts to spend that much money on a cartrdige rather than buying a system+game. Who cares tho?

Most Xbox games I'd get bored of in a week..

Neo games are like a fine wine, cheese, or art.
They don't impress me much at first, but as they age, they only get better and better...
That's why there're works of art..

This is pretty much one of the only place I can talk about neo geo and everything is ok. All my friends think that I'm just stupid buying neo geo stuff. Just yesterday my friends came over to play kof2000 for the first time. One of my friends was like this looks like his kof95 for the psx. I was like naw it's better...Both of them complained about everything. Damn cheap roll, or they look gay moving backward, or how crappy it looks and especially when it came out after garou mark of the wolves. Stupid people I tell you, they will never learn.

Boy Bobak, I bet you're glad that cart cost only $295 - I mean just a penny over $300 and your statement about only buying carts for less than $300 goes to shit. Next thing you know you'd be looking for a Metal Slug 1 home cart. Thank god for the neo store, and Brylmoo.

By the way, I'm a really big hardcore fan. I love Kobe Tai, Kitty Yung, Jenna Jameson, Asia Carerra, etc. Just wanted to let you know.

I didn't become such a big hardcore fan until I got into the neo geo though.

neo games are built and made alot better than the others, the quility is there and the games are quailty. if you dont own a neo-geo aes system then you will never understand the true fun in the games.

I know exactly the feeling. I bought Metal Slug 3 for $230, and I still don't own an Xbox or PS2. When those two systems show me something as good as MS3, then they will get my $300.

Nah, I don't get that kind of discussion unless it's a friend who doesn't know me that well (of which there are maybe two or three out of - well, more than I can count). Besides, they ( some of my friends ) get so happy when they get their emu's running, but there's nothing quite like holding an Neo-Geo cart in your hands, you know what I mean? I have emu's also, but I've spent time hunting down each and everyone of them in cart form.

I can't help it, I'm addicted to KOF - Utterly addicted! Ever since I put in my first token - I knew I had to have a Neo Geo!

There's nothing like the feel of having your own -
nothing like it....

Screw it. I certainly don't discuss neo with anyone I know. They won't get it and I can't explain it to them. Nobody understands that there is something more to Neo than just video games. Oh, well everyone here understands it. :)

I know what you guys mean when you say some of your friends just don't understand. It's true for me as well. They look at my shit and say "shit Steve you brought all this old crap? Man get with the times fool. Get a PS2 or X-Box or something. I can't believe anyone would still play this crap."

That's why I have a new rule... no more ignorant friends can come to my house. :D

Seriously, besides the fact that I need some new friends... I don't care anymore what others think. I won't really try to change their mind, unless they're someone I really *am* good friends with and would like to share multiplayer experiences with.
