Ive played all the new Kof games 99 00 01 etc
Yesterday i went to an arcade and i played Kof 98.Man that game blows away all the new Kof games.The gameplay is aweseome.Bacrounds are amazing.I fought on this one board where it was night time and there was a forest in the back with trees moving and stuff.It blew me away!Kof 2k1 is crap compared to this game.One board i saw it was just a picture of race cars in the backround.WTF is up with that.The Kof games seam to be getting worse and worse in my opinion.Kof 98 is was one the best fighting games ive ever played.

yep, that is why it was my first KOF choice for my AES.

That's your opinion and your welcome to it, i presonally like the newer KoF's and sure the backgrounds in 2k1 could have had more thought put into it but it was nice in it's own little simplistic way.

Yes, I love KOF series too.

Not sure why, but of all the 2D/3D fighters out there, KOF series have always captivated me :)

You should go back and try to play 94, 95, 96, 97 also. They each have a distinct flavor to it. And well worth your time!

I am buyin a Neo Geo becuase of Kof 98 I am in love with this game.I go to an arcade in chinatown and there is still a line to play this game.I saw the pics of 2k2 and i must say that i am impressed.Backrounds look great and that guy says its the best one yet.

I have to agree. I have 98 and 99 but I never play 99. I played 2000 in the arcade and 2001 and I was really dissapointed. I hope 2k2 has the magic that 98 had. ;)

Most people agree that KOF98 is the best the series has seen, perhaps 2K2 will be a revision of that greatness (crosses fingers). But I found all the other ones have their certain charms and appeals, even 2K1.

Wonderful, lets base the game on graphics. Over all 98 is a bit better than 2K1 if you look at the entire picture (graphics, blanced gameplay, overall presentation, music), but 2K1's gameplay is more deep than 98 and I prefer 2K1 when you are just looking at gameplay. If you are looking at the whole package, than 98 is a great choice. It plays great, looks great, is incredibly solid, wonderful cast of characters and its still my favorite fighter of all time. But PLEASE dont trash any of the newer KOF's just on graphics. Its the gameplay that counts in the end man, and 2K1 has EXCELLENT gameplay. Just my humble opinion.
