I checked to see if Telegames had updated some of there prices on there site, but as usually the prices where all the same, so I emailed them and asked if they were doing any deals on Neo carts because their prices are so fucking stupid its out of this world ie Art of fighting 2 for £249.99! - $349.99! I said to them that alot of people can pick of AOF2 for about $60.00 in near mint condition.

here is their reply:

Dear Oliver

Not sure that NEW it can be bought for less than £35 + VAT !! - used maybe.Regret we do not set prices - we have to buy at market prices. We do special offers to previous customers from time to time which gives lots of savings on most systems.

Most items are on our site together with order and shipping details. please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any item not listed as
our site is still being added to and we may have the item you need or may be able to find it for you. If you are ordering from out of the UK
you can get current exchange rates for all currencies from sites such as : www.xe.net/currency/

All orders are sent soon as order / payment info rec'd
Regards and thank you for your mail
TELEGAMES Ltd

has anyone used them before and been satisfied?, who on earth would pay for there carts who cares if there brand new they are still a rip off!..

I live very near Telegames actually - they are ok... although I have heard bad things about their customer service (Rain, you out there?), I have had no problems in the past with the few things I bought off them. However, their prices are indeed VERY high.

heh,
I've said it before, and I'm damn sure I'll say it again.. FUCK Telegames

The first order I did was fine (but high priced) but the next two times they tried to screw me over.. The last time they even tried to deny I'd paid them. Kind of easy to prove seeing as I'd used a credit card - idiots

Their customer service is surpassed only by that of the old Computer Exchange mail order team..

Heh... I'm here :) I used to think of Telegames as a bit of a joke. But now? HATRED! ;) Main problems for me were Arrogance and High Prices, until the whole Dreamcast Problem (Which I won't go into here, unless someone really wants to know) A shame really, as when they were in the Haymarket, in Leicester Town Centre (Remember then Kaz?) I used to buy loads of cool shit from them (FIGHTING MASTERS!) But now? Forget about it....

Glad I don't live in the UK and have to deal with that shit. All I've ever heard about Telegames has been overwhelmingly negative. What a bunch of fucking knobs.

Yeah I remember it - never really used to shop there back then to be honest though. I only shop with Telegames occasionally now if there is something I really need off them, ands I (sort of) know the owner so I doubt he'd try to give me any crap. To be honest, from what I know of him he is a decent guy (not sure about the other emloyees at all though) but his prices are still too high no matter what

Did I mention he offered to sell me a bare Andro Dunos MVS cart that he had lying around (no box, no marquee nothing) for the super cheap price of £65 ($100 or so)...? I just laughed :p

Okay here we go.... Some details may be a little wrong though, as it has been a long time :)

Anyway.... I brought my dreamcast on launch day from Electronics Boutique, worked fine for ages until it started cutting off for no reason during random games (The machine was chipped, but I'll get to that in a moment). Mainly because they were nearest, I took it into Telegames to get it repaired At that timeI thought they were great, but a little expensive at times. "Fine, we'll repair it" they said, "call back in a week." A week passed. "Oh, Sorry sir give us another week" Okay fine. 1 Month Later I still hadn't heard jack shit off of them. So I called them up "Should be here in a couple of days" they said. Amazingly, it did arrive, fully working they said. Got it home, guess what? Totally dead. Gee, Thanks you fuckers. Swapped a DC which cut off once every ten times to one that never works. Great.

Took it straight back, told them to give me my money back (£50) got £30 back surprisingly. Learned a few things though.

1: Telegames don't actually repair the consoles themselves, they simply send the machine to another company. They do this with chipping machines as well.

2: They actually admitted (When I took it back) that they had no idea what was wrong with it. Knew how to fuck it up though fellas, eh?

3: The amount of times they blamed it on the chip was hilarious. I've opened up other machines that they have chipped, and they look the same as mine (Which Console King in Wales did) They are even the same chip number.

I phoned Console King afterwards, and they told me that it was a common problem with first edition DC's that was simply resolved by putting some WD40 in the DC (I forget where). WD40. WD fucking 40. Guess I lost out here, eh?

Bear in mind, it took several heated arguments (By Phone) to get some of my money back. And I have been in there quite a few times over the years as i've said. Bottom Line? Deal with these guys all you want, but if they are prepared to fuck with a guy who lives within driving distance, what are they gonna do to someone who lives all the way over the atlantic?

That's fucked up Rain... I can remember now that you mentioned this before. I do know people that have had stuff repaired by them in the past, although that has been ok... but if they have done stuff like that then I wouldn't trust them at all personally Do you know the name of the guy you dealt with by any chance? Pete... Adrian?

I'll be honest and admit that I couldnt be bothered to read all of this thread. But the word 'Telegames' alone is enough to get the gist of what's going on. Maaaaan if I hear one more horror story about UK retailers I'm packing my bags for Asia right away...

What can I say? I'm not surprised. I've noticed for years ever since being on the net that Telegames's prices have been ridiculously high. You'd think at those prices, you might actually get some kindness and service. Ugh. Thanks for the posts and info guys. Yet another online retailer to avoid. Hell, like I'd buy MOTW for 1700+. Please...
