I doubt that there's enough interest in it for it to be lucrative for Arcade..... but I would be interested in getting a copy.

You know this is a Neo CD game? What makes you think it's possible to put it on cart?

I'll tell you one thing theres no way your gonna fit that CD quality sound on a cartridge, cause you'd be looking at a real expensive cart, probably 1,000$+.

The Neo CD game is over 400Megs I'm pretty sure, the biggest Neo Cart ever isn't over 95 megs, and that's BYTES, not the pointless numbering system they use on the cart boxes which is "bits".

Well, of course the CD quality sound would be toned down a bit... but, anyway, for the megs, what about data compression?!?
SNK never used it, but i don't see why !Arcade! shouldn't use it...

If SNK didn't produce an AES version of the game, they had good reason for that.
With that kind of thinking why not producing a AES version of P.O.W!

They didn't produce AES verions of Shock Troopers, Super Dodge Ball, Prehistoric Isle 2, Nightmare in the Dark and many others as well, but that didn't stop !Arcade! to make nice conversions...

This is not the same thing with the games you speak about. There were arcade games produced for the MVS system, so they could be easily converted to AES. And even for these games, I don't think that it's a good idea to put them on AES. It's a personal opinion but there are two reason for me:
1) there are no legit stuff from SNK. I'm not a collector but I don't think that the fact of create your own version of a game is the right way to enjoy it. For the price of many conversions, you can buy the MVS title with a phantom converter.
2) Even if !arcade! tell that they are conversion, you can see them on many stores and on ebay auctions sold like a real production with a very limited number of copy. I have seen that for ganryu and Striker 1945 for example. If you're not an expert you can believe it and buy it as a legit SNK version.

These are the two reason why all the conversions are not the good solution for me.

I respect your opinion, but i'd still go crazy for an AES version of SSRPG... <img src="graemlins/loco.gif" border="0" alt="[Loco]" />

There's a big difference between these 2...
NGF marketed their conversions as the real thing, while !Arcade! just offers conversions in AES of games that exist in MVS only versions... and i can't see what's wrong in that, if the buyers know what they're buying and are happy with it...

You know that buying a Neo Geo CD and SSRPG would still be cheaper then buying the cart from Ray. Just a tidbit of information for ya ;)

The best conversion for the Neo Geo would be IkarI Warriors , Now I'd buy that in a second on AES or MVS !

Pfft... you must have been talking to Ray Young to start this thread, Brandi. Anyhow, the sound in SS RPG isn't so high quality that a home cart system couldn't handle it. In fact, the game should have been made for the SNES. I was talking to another member about this just yesterday. It's a good game, but it's straight up 2D with limited speech (which is stupidly sparse and inconsistent) and way too many unimportant battles. I don't know how the save file would be handled if such a cart were made. Maybe the same way SNES and ENS carts did it. But in short, an AES cart of this game wouldn't be lesser in quality than the CD.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but as much technical experience as Ray Young has, he seems like a hardware guy to me. I don't see him performing a project that would basically consist of porting a video game to a completely different system. In fact, I don't see any single person pulling that off. The work for SS RPG AES would be almost all software and only a little bit hardware. Not to mention the language translation that most customers would demand.
