So far I see 5 (Maybe 6) NEW backgrounds, & 5 recycled.

The New:

1. The flags
2. The terrace in sunset
3. Forest Scene w/Buddha statue
4. Ships deck
5. A cave of sorts (possibly, cant make it out)
6. Red building w/tile floor

Recycled:

1. Gaira's SS3 steps
2. Nakoruru's home forest (ss2, 1)
3. Basara's shack (looks a tad different, redrawn?)
4. SS4 bamboo
5. SS3 blossoming trees (redrawn maybe?)

Half & half isnt bad, still I'll take all the new art I can get. 5 backs, 4 new sprites, & hopefully all new music.

Cant wait to play it

Whose stage is the ship? Earthquake made an appearance on the ship stage in SS64. I'm not super-familiar with the new pics released, but I wouldn't doubt there are more stages based on the backgrounds of the hyper releases. "New".

Edit: Genjuro fought in a Red house with tile floor in SS64. A cave stage was present in SS64 II, though I can't remember who it was meant for.

from my loke test impressions thread:

bg info...

1. ss3 or 4 (cant remember) haomaru forest with falling cherry blossoms stage
2. NEW on a ship, just off land, looks cool and has a day and night version (2 dif stages i think)
3. NEW a battlefield with sams on horses in the background, sorta screamed "ran" the movie to me or dynasty warriors hero duel with soldiers around watching
4. NEW a graveyard with broken cart and pile of bodies in the bg
5. NEW chinese temple vast open area stage, looks cool and a little crouching tiger
6. ss2 house in the forest with ice on the rooftops stage
7. ukyos bamboo forest level
8. ss4 in a ruined wooden building level
9. ss4 burning village stage
10. ss3 galford bridge stage with waterfall and trees
11. mist steps from ss3 or 4 (gairas stage)
12. NEW big buddha statue in some kind of valley
13. ss4 beach stage

Cool, thanks Beez! Cant wait to see the ship stage, good to hear they are implementing more BG's with different environmental/daylight effects.............

the zooming is in there.

@ew.. not sure there seemed to be enough for them to be character specific but i didnt pay attention to whether they were or not..

The 'snowy' version of Nakoruru's home should be Rimururu's SSIII bg...
