Metal Slug vs. Demon Front....

Who has both of these games? I was curious to see how Demon Front stacked up against the Metal Slug series. I've been thinking about getting Slug 4 as well as Demon front and wanted to know where I should prioritize.

I'd love to get hold of a source for Demon Front and other PGM games. I only have Martial Masters.

Any help out there?

Demon Front and Metal Slug play somewhat the same and have a similar look, but I don't think it's fair to compare the two. If you can find devoted PCB (kind of like the Taito F-3 Board, or the Crystal System) Buy it for your JAMMA Rig, it's worth it... I just haven't got around to buying one yet but I got to play of it awhile back in a Truck Stop of all places. Good game, but I'm militant by nature and I'll take the MS series over Demon any day.

I'm pretty sure Pleco has Demon Front on PGM... he's got all the Slug games as well Ask him.

Long story short, Metal Slug is more fun. Just by a hair.

I like the features like floating with your angel wings, use your pet as a shield or charge it for special attack. The resolution is a little bit better than the resolution of the Metal Slug series.

The animations of the characters are much better in Metal Slug, more jokes, more different characters (mostly).

The sound effects of the guns are "heavier" in Metal Slug than in Demon Front. The shotgun isn´t that "powerful" when you pull the trigger in Demon Front like it is in Metal Slug.

The BGM in Metal Slug is much better, too. You´ll recognize it, when you hear it again. The Demon Fron BGMs are not very catchy - unfortunately.

Don´t get me wrong. I like Demon Front because of the side-scroll-run-n-gun-gameplay, but in Metal Slug you get more for your money. You will see it, when you can compare it directly.

I paid 250 Bucks for DF plus a lot of taxes - unfortunately. And I had to wait a lot of time for shipping from the USA.

Metal Slug X Kit costs me 70 EUR.

Of course not everybody owns Demon Front, but it´s not worth it just for storing it on your shelf - that´s for sure!

If I had the choice again, I probably wouldn´t buy it again for that price.

I just can say: blast away, and go, go, go!!! ^_^

thats right demon front is a good game but will always be over shadowed by our very own metal slug series.but demon is a game that many people are not expose to and should because you will apprecitae the fun of the playing to player's is a blast playing solo it's all about your Combo meter so there are various ways to play i have demon front and i love this game so it no need to compare the two enjoy them both and soon we will have Dolphin Blue so i guess we will compare MS & Df to Dolphin blue.All i can say is

Just because it´s the only run n gun-game on the PGM, it doesn´t has to be a god game. It´s good, but not quite as good as Metal Slug. I guess, the most of the players, who want to enjoy shooting games, wants to play a simple gameplay like Metal Slug. The new Combo-Feature can´t get out the disadvantages of Demon Front.

As I said: Demon Front isn´t bad. It´s really fun, but it´s too expensive for the gameplay you can get much cheaper in Metal Slug.

That´s all I can say to all the people, who think about buying Demon Front. I wouldn´t hype it to lead others to buy DF - get yourself MS and be happy.

i think its too expensive and i think the backgrounds of metal slug are better than those of demon front its fun playing it wit these funny animations but remember nothing reaches the quality of the original make_fac

wow...looks great, but does anyone with an arcade/route (jefmcc?) know how successful the hardware is? It's an expensive setup for one cart...

I don't have a route... yet. Maybe when I finish school. Back to school as an adult is a pain in the ass.

As for expensive, I think it's worth owning a PGM for Martial Masters, Demon Front, and any of the scrolling beat'em ups on there. Such as Oriental Legends or Knights of Valour. (since they play almost identical)

BTW, does anyone have any info about operating a route in the US? Any legal hoops necessary?
