Thanks Again Blackride

Legend of Success Joe

Get at least two copies... you're bound to wear one copy out at some point.

I really like Top Hunter. I got mine on these boards for $70. I would also say KOF 95 is a must have, which also cost me $70 on ebay.

Who said that?

Trust me. LoSJ is one of the finest games produced on the Neo. I'll admit the graphics are a little dated now, but the gameplay is still up there with the likes of Kof '98 and MotW.

You'd be daft not to buy it. Believe me, you'll be addicted within minutes.

I'd start out with Samurai Shodown 1 homecart myself. That is the one game I'd choose if I were only allowed one neo geo game, then again its my personal fave :) even better its cheap too

Hey dude- you'll have to read a lot of reviews andf th eones on this site are very good. neogeoforlife is also a good resource.

BTW, Joe, Football Frenzy and the quiz games are pretty bad, the other people were pulling your chain.

A good title depends upon your likes, so here's a rundown:

expensive=$250 or less
cheap=$100 or less

Action:
Expensive: Metal Slug 3
Cheap: Cyber Lip

Shooter
Expensive: Viewpoint
Cheap: Last Resport

Fighting:
Expensive: Real Bout 2 or Real Bout Special
Cheap: Samurai Shodown II

Adventure:
Macigian Lord

Sports:
Expensive: Neo Turf Masters (golf)
Cheap: Baseball Stars 2

Sidescroll Beat-em-up:
Expensive: Sengoku 3
Cheap: Sengoku 2

Try a few of the above first, if you have the $ and like the Neo enough, here are a some titles I own that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, but they are rare a cost a lot of money:

Metal Slug X (action)
Blazing Star (shooter)
Pulstar (shooter)
Mark of the Wolves (fighting)

I hope this helps a bit. Also if you read a review, please note that many people use 7 or 70 as the average, so a lot of these games get an 8 or 80 and that means just a bit above average. When in doubt post a reply asking people fot their thoughts.

Last Blade 2. Best Neo game ever. It's one game I can pick up and play whenever and enjoy the hell out of it.

First you should start with some of the cheaper, older carts because they are good games to start out with. After that, you can start buying the more expensive carts.

Cheap Carts I recommend:
Fatal Fury 2
Fatal Fury Special
Samurai Shodown
Samurai Shodown II
KOF 94
KOF 95

Expensive games I recommend:
KOF 98
Last Blade
Last Blade 2
KOF 96
Fatal Fury 3
Real Bout Special
Real Bout 2
Garou Mark of the Wolves

My first two games were Fatal Fury Special and Samurai Showdown II. Both cost 30 bucks each and are both great games!

I'd say SS64... but I'm sure he was looking for just straight Neo, not the Hyper Neo Geo! :D

Firsttly, KOF 96 is not expensive, in fact I think is the better KOF deal you can get if you consider its price/quality. I got my MINT copy for roughly 75 USD, and that’s not a lot of money for a Neo Geo AES game.

In other words, if you want to buy a Kof game the best one you can get for cheap is KOF 96 (KOF 95 is good, but KOF 96 beats it).

Another must have is Fatal Fury real Bout, you can get one for about 80 USD.

The same goes for Fatal Fury 3, about 60/70 USD.

Fatal Fury Speacial: 45/55 USD The same goes for Samurai Shodwn

AOF 2: Very good and challenging, about 45 USD.

Samurai Shodown 2 is very cheap and a great game, for 50 USD you can get it even Brand New.

Samurai Shodown 3: Great game, but ger SS2 first (70 USD).

The first one to get should be KOF 96 or SS 2 IMHO.
