Hello all,

Since I'm so new to this whole Neo Geo scene I have a quick question about purchasing Neo carts. I notice in the neo store that there is both a "import" and "english" version of some games. I'm looking into picking up Metal Slug 3 but I can't figure out what the difference is. Is there more violence in the import version? Are there certain levels or modes only on the english version? I'm sooooo confused! I'm going to be picking up a japanese neo geo system in the upcoming days(about time!) I just want to be able to play the game with the MOST options available.

As usual, Thanks for the help!

Alan :D

The only difference between Japanese and American carts are their labels instructions and inserts.

What mode they play in is determined by the system.

Your Japanese system will show games with all their gore and tits without fail.

US systems tend to eliminate blood and tits.

Otherwise, the games are identical.

Sp, no worries.

*Rade Kuruc beat me to it*

There is no difference. Just the instructions manual would be in English or Japanese depending on the version.

Sometimes the games could be censured but this depends on the system you have, not the game itself. Since you are getting a JPN one you would never have censure problems.

With a JPN system all games will be displayed in Japanese by defect, but the majority have the option of selecting the language.

The versions are the same, which version you play depends on whether you have a english or japanese bios in your machine.

Except the inserts obviously, they don't change with your machines bios.
