cex who goes there

i just wanted to know

I always used to go to CEX every time i went to London,which was like every 3 months.I remember when the retro bit first opened and there was like nothing there

I always used to buy a ton of Playstation,N64 and Dreamcast imports and it was great.But these days they tend to WAY over price compared to other importers,so i always popped in these days and tend not to buy anything.

The retro section wasn't bad when it first opened,but then every thing shot up in price,the same carts sat on the shelf rotting away and looked even more worse every time i went.More faggots ran the retro bit,they often were lazy and always laughed for some reason at people or sniggered something,i found it rude

They sucked at service,i brought i few NGPC games from them,they were overprcied yet i got them,one came without the booket etc,they had like 20 copies of the same game,i asked if they had one and refused to give me one,yet they had loads and none was buying them,the bastards.All they did all day long was play on the carts and because they were overpriced no one will buy them,so they can just sit there playing on them for longer.You ask them something they reply like 10 seconds later.I have other examples but the same message is there,THEY SUCK

Sorry dude,you can do better than CEX around London.

Try Ebay or some of our Selling forums,they are loads of games to be had.Don't go CEX,buy here or on Ebay,you will get a fairer price,larger range of games,much cheaper and in better condition.

Ive only been to, and bought from the one in Scum.

It was pretty crap, though had some very cheap (all around £5 - £15) import DC games, no Neo at all though (well, some pocket at least).

There's one nerdy wanker called Rupert who works at CEX he looks so much like monkey boy Joe Absolom , the little shit called "matthew" who got bullied bY Steve Owen in eastenders.

I have been to the London one a few times. It was much better when there was a dedicated retro shop, but now its all under one roof it just feels really cramped.

I also got the same feeling when visiting the Retro bit of the new shop, that they were taking the piss and were not that interested in helping you. A few of the guys there were ok though (that was about a year and a half ago now).

If you want Retro stuff at a good price join some forums and use ebay.

Forum prices are cheaper and the people selling usually give a crap about what they are selling.

CEX is SHIT , the staff at the b'ham store are total wankers (especially the manager) and the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. oh yeah, and the place is always a fucking dingy dump and they play some of the shittest music ever.

Three things i remember about CEX

1) Spending £25 on Card Fighters Clash SNK UK version and they gave me the Jap cart. If i hadn't have checked my stuff over on my dinner break i'd have been fucked. I took it back and it wasn't bad enough they didn;t believe me, they said 'it works the same as the UK version anyway' >:/

2) Buying USA Import of Airforce Delta for the Dreamcast. They give me the Japanese Disc.

3) Spending £25 on Fire Pro Wrestling S for Saturn. I get home, the Disc is scratched to shit, but it works. Take it back the following weekend to trade it in as i bought a mint copy, they offer me £8 on trade. When i tell them i paid £25 for it just a week ago, they say 'We have trouble selling Saturn stuff'.

4) Buying Dreamcast Toukon Retsuden IV import for a friend. Tried it on my Dreamcast with DC-x, wouldnt work. Tried it on his, wouldn't work. Take it round another friends dedicated JAP dreamcast. wouldnt' work. Take it back to the store with reciept. The fat bastard behind the counter keeps me AGES (25 minutes +) while he tries to find a jap DC to test it. Comes back, 'Says' he tested it and it works perfectly. I told him no way and demanded to see it on one of the 4 Display TV's they have set up. Typically, he refused and in the end offered me full store credit. Whoa, thanks!

5) Ordering Speed Devils Online for Dreamcast Via their Website, as they say they have it in stock. What happens? Telephone call 3 days later saying they made an error and don;t actually have it.

Keep away. THEY ARE SHIT!

The thing that bugs me is,why do they take the piss out of people?

Is it because they have no friends,life or something,maybe just too 'hardcore' for the rest of us.Just annoys me why they must do it too everyone.Maybe someone from there can explain,Neo*Geo or Kyo geo care to shed some light on that?

Yeah though so,i have a question though,dunno if you remember her,but there was one girl there,last time i saw her she was Pregnant and should of had a baby by now.She had dark hair and Pakistani i think,can't remember (no racist remarks here )

Basically, Cex, Gamestation, EB & Game are all shit.

They all play crap music, have fukked prices, and 8/10 people wjho work there nknow fuck all about games, and generlly, are wankers.

Agreed,support your local game shop people,they need you.I only go to my local now,they give me good prices on second hand games,are honest,know what they are doing and sells his old import and retro stuff to me.But everyone else just shops at GAME,bastards

Their prices on all Retro stuff really is laughable and their knowledage is equally poor.

I also like to fleece them with trade ins. Virtua on (saturn) bought for £7 on ebay traded in for £20 credit. tickled

I used to run an indie myself so can appreciate the fun of offering people next to nothing for trade ins on games and seeing their reaction.

I part exchanged a Saturn (+ games + controllers etc) from a guy for about £100 (PSX + a couple of games). The saturn had about 30 games including Panzer Dragoon 1+2+sage, Burning Rangers and lots of other cool stuff.

My other gem was a PC Engine GT + 4 games which I got for about £50. tickled

People really should find out what their stuf is worth before trading it in.

HAHAHAH THATS SO TRUE THOSE RETRO WANKERS ARE ALL OVER ANY GIRL, LIKE A JIMMY HAT,WHENEVER ONE WALKS IN THEIR DAMN SHOP .I MADE THE MISTAKE OF TAKING A GF TO RETRO CEX AND THEY COULDNT TAKE THEIR DROOLING EYES OFF .THEY WERE JEALOUS AS HELL
