I am looking at buying both Waku Waku 7 and Breakers for AEs. My VERY FAVORITE fighter is Mark Of The Wolves, and I have been told these titles are similar in feel (more so than say a King of Fighters or what not).

The questions:

#1. Are either worth the insane money?

#2. Knowing that my fav is MOTW, will I like these titles? I guess, I like fast gameplay and amazing animation...

#3. Which should I get first Breakers or Waku? (i.e. which is better).

Thanx in advance!

Answers:

#1: Waku Waku 7, yes. Breakers, no.

#2: Neither game is remotely like MotW, especially not WW7. Breakers is poor mans Street Fighter Zero clone.

#3: Waku Waku 7.

I have strong opinions on this, but they happen to be exactly the same as Tarma's. WW7 rocks and is worth it, breakers is wank and should only be bought by a completist or someone who for some reason can only buy neo titles.

Waku Waku 7, does it play like any other Neo title?

Is the speed of play fast like MOTW, medium like KOF or slower like Last Blade?

Combo system good?

I own the following: MOTW, Real Bout Special, KOF 94 and 98, Fatal Fury Special, Samurai 1 and 2, Fatal Fury ,Art of Fighting and World Heroes Jet. I don't like Last Blade (own it but am looking to sell) too much, and the KOF titles I have are plently for me; is there any other title worthy of getting before Waku?

Waku Waku 7 doesn't play like any other Neo game, period.

The closest you'd get is Matrimelee, and that's only just been released.

The game is quick, and the combo system is first class. I think the game has an excellent learning curve.

You just can't compare WW7 to anything else on the Neo. It's in a class of it's own, and deservedly so. I mean, how many other games can you think of where you get to fight as a gigantic rabbit??!!

It's not a rabbit.

Now repeat with me:

"It's a TOTORO named Marurun.
No Mauru's not his name.
No it's not a rabbit."

C'mon Rich, you can do it. :D

They are both very good games but, can be very pricey due to their rarity. You could get a Phantom-1 converter, and get the MVS carts of Breakers and Waku Waku 7, which the prices are considerably less.

Fun game ww7 is,

no longevity for me compared to a KOF or SS, so I sold it.

I think Breakers is very enjoyable.

Like said above, it is a bit of a SSZ clone, but it feels good to play.

Granted, Waku is probably a better game.

I have breakers on MVS and even if I enjoy the gaame I won't definitively buy it on AES. It's more than 400$, it's crazy!
Breaker's best advantage is its combo system. It's quick, fun and quite easy. With small training you can pull 20+ combos.
For Waku Waku 7 I haven't played the game enough to have a true judgement.
