Thanks.

Anyhow, Metal Slug has no soundtrack. Only Metal Slug 2 & Metal Slug 3.

Buy the MVS version unless you want to pay a hell of lot for the AES version.

OK, I'm gonna tell you a little secret. You can always download teh romz (which I don't condone, but if you REALLY REALLY REALLY can't live without the soundtrack, this will work for you). What you'll need to do is get your ROM/Emulator and then use a WAV editor to record the WAV output from your soundcard. Most Neo EMUs have a juke box that you can take advantage of and just play the music from there while recording the track(s) via a WAV file. If you can't find one that does Jukebox, download one that supports the Universe BIOS. The Univers BIOS supplies you the ability to play the music from a cart/ROM in it's menus. Fucking awesome feature if you ask me.

Then once you've created all the WAV files from all the tracks you want, burn them to a CD. Instant MVS cart soundtrack. It'll work with any Neo game.

You can also buy an MVS board with a Universal BIOS, MVS Slug and some kind of SuperGun (since England is the land of the Superior SuperGun it should be easy to find... sorry I have to bust you for the comments you keep making about England 'guns being superior). Then take the Stereo outputs into your PC and record it that way as well. Or you can take the stereo outputs to a receiver that will allow you to record to tape. Another instant soundtrack.

The ROM thing appealed to me originally, since I use Sound Forge and recording/editting WAVs is a snap, but since I think Emulation is the Devil, I decided against it. Besides, the only games I wanted the OSTs to were the LBs, which I was able to find and buy all of (thanks to Dash No Chris).

Emulation is what bought some of us here, because I didn't go playing Neo Geo, till I downloaded the roms and play on my cpu. But, now I have an AES system, but emulation, kind of in a way, helped the Neo Geo, even tho, SNK/Playmore doesn't want emulation around. But, I think it's benefical in a way to the Neo Geo.

Back in the day I actually owned an MVS before I first saw that there was a Neo emulator. Back then I hated the emu because it just wasn't nessecary at that time. The neo was abundant in arcades all around so roms weren't needed if you wanted to test a game before purchasing. Now a days I still don't think that roms are needed with the exception of testing games super rare and expensive games, but then again, if you are buying those expensive games you are getting them more for collectors reasons than actual gaming. The thing that pisses me off the most about roms is when you have friends over and they make a comment like "why do still buy these games when you can download the roms?". It just takes a bit out of the hobby for me every time I hear a comment like that.

I was the same way. I played SamSho on the SNES, wanted to see what it was supposed to be like, downloaded the ROM and an EMU and decided then and there to figure out how to get a Neo. I don't mess with EMUs any more, as after thinking about it I really do dislike people who will download a ROM just so they can play a fucking game and never buy it. That's theft.

My favorite: "I wouldn't play it if it wasn't free." Then don't fucking play it at all you fucking cunt. If you don't respect the game enough to want to spend money on it, why are you playing it in the first place? If it's a good game, BUY IT.

Even still, the easiest way to get a quality track is to do the EMU thing. Or maybe you can convince someone with an EMU/ROM set for MS to do one for you? It's really not that difficult.

Here's what you do:

1: swallow some pride
2: download Mslug.zip and neogeo.zip
3: download Neobula and jukebox
4: heat up jukebox and start recording. it has a wave dump feature

edit: SEPLLANG!

That's exactly what my bro says.
