Hi everybody

This weekend I took a picture of my new cabinet.

I would like to make it look more Neo-Geo'ish.

Do any of you have some ideas ?

The arcade stick section looks fruity to me, maybe some MS3 promo stuff taped to the sides??

I already have the 4th button connected to the wires in both sides - it just needs to be drilled into the top board.

The whole joystick part of the cabinet can be pulled out like a drawer which makes it SO easy to change the games.

I was planning to change the top marquee into a holder for 4 mini marquees, since I have just bought a 4 slot board.

I have one of those monsters too, I like the sliding drawer in these.

I need to recap the monitor on mine , but Its just sitting in storage with no pcb in it so I probably wont do it anytime soon.

Congrats on your new toy !

So, is it a JAMMA+ cab?
Or a None JAMMA+?

I think a way of making it more Neo Geo Ish would be to maybe coat it red and black, and change the buttons.

Those Joysticks looks very uncomfortable, I reckomend the mushroom top style joysticks.

I carnt say i really like the coin slot being at the top though.

But aslong as your happy with it then thats fine!

Leave the metal and the black painted bits.

I think a red MVS marquee, an MVS button overlay, and some neo*geo colored buttons/sticks would do wonders.

Mine is a straight Jamma cabinet , as far as I know all of these were.

Of course it could have been wired for anything ?

There are a few small differences in your and mine , mine has an Atari style coin door and 2 coin mechs in it.

Mine also opens from the lower rear instead of being hinged in the front.

The top is a bit taller on mine and has 2 speakers upthere as well as a large lighted area for a marque.

You might think about hunting down an MVS conversion kit , mainly for the stickers.

Then you can put the large Neo stickers on the side and have a proper marque for it.

Umm... I'd redo the control panel. Get different decorations and the standard button colors.

Thanks for all the comments on my cabinet !

I appreciate it - and will let you know as soon as it has been "Neo-Geo´ed" ;)

By the way - it is a Jamma cabinet.

its the boards that are jamma or jamma+ it has nothing to do with the cabs. jamma+ means there is extra harness for more players and or buttons
!!

Like the cab..marque gotta go!!!

Well...

You say potato - I say tomato
You say board - I say cabinet <img src="graemlins/glee.gif" border="0" alt="[Glee]" />

I guess you still understood my point :)

I agree with your marquee comment - do you have an idea how I could make it into a mini marquee holder ?

No, cabs such as the 4 player Ninja turtles (which I have) are built Jamma, and even have the Loom fixed for it.
The board is also Jamma+
