theres an official SNK MVS cab that runs off cd's full of roms .. or something.. I've seen pictures of it before.

It had mini marquees for each game at the top.. it could store up to 100 games and select between them.

Anyone got information on this.. I've tried looking :<

I read about this thing a few months ago. I thought it was a MAME project. Someone here said something about it being an Ultracade with an SNK Roms CD pack. It had a red marquee with all these MVS mini marquees on it. It looked very cool.

Yes,

There is an un-official Ultracade that was being shown at ASI 2002. It had around 50 or so MVS games in it and was very well done. It was basic Ultracade, so games are loaded from CD into the HardDrive and can be selected from a very nice select screen. All and all I heard Ultracade was trying to get the rights for the games, but hadn't yet. Looking at the Ultradcade site, there is no info at all about the SNK pack... I am guessing it never made it out the gate thanks to SNKs demise....

I mentioned this a while ago because someone told me they were licencing the roms to ultracade. When I went to find any evidence of this though, I came up short.

It looked to me like they had the deal almost in hand, and then something slowed it all down. Ultracade might have jumped the gun, or maybe the sale of snk rights to playmore screwed up the deal. It looks like something that ALMOST happened and might still happen.

I think it'd be pretty cool, but roms and roms, if I wanted to play roms I'd load them on my own mame machine. I just wish playmore would sell limited home licenses to people who play roms because they can't afford the games, but want to support playmore anyway. Most would give 10$ or something for a nice paper that made them legal.
