i am an AEs owner whom does not live in an area where the arcades stock many Neo games and thus trying them out is not an option. ;-(

I just posted a topic about Metal Slug and the vibe I'm getting is that I should proceed carefully.

The question i should have asked is: what else is out there?

I am not huge into fighting games (I have a few, and have tried everyone on the system at one point or another), and think my collection is pretty complete, but still think there are titles i might have missed. (If I own one games in a series it means I have tried the prequels or sequels and did not like them).

My collection:
1. Viewpoint - 2
2. Last Resort - 2
3. Andro Dunos - 2
4. Sonic Wings 2
5. Alpha Mission 2
6. Blazing Star
7. Magician Lord - 2
8. Metal Slug X
9. Metal Slug 3
10. Metal Slug 4
11. Cyber Lip - 2
12. Sengoku 2
13. Sengoku 3
14. NAM 1975 - 2
15. Shock Troopers 2nd Squad
16. Fatal Fury
17. Fatal Fury Special
18. Garou: Mark of the Wolves
19. King of Fighters 1994
20. King of Fighters 1998
21. Samurai Shodown - 2
22. Samurai Shodown II - 2
23. Samurai Shodown III
24. Art Of FIghting
25. World Heroes 2 Jet

Looking at:
1. Miracle Adventure
2. Ninja Commando
3. Metal Slug

Pulstar aside (bought it and sold it) is there anything I have missed that's worth getting?

*Top Hunter
*King of Fighters 2002

No Collection should be complete without the original Last Blade . . . and maybe later on get his friend Last Blade 2 (1 is better, IMO).

Also, where's the Real Bout love? How about KOF 95 or 96 (both excellent games)?

Your collection is great and I hope to one day have something somewhat comparable.

Get RBFFS or RB2. Get them while you can. Get them in all formats. Get them and die happy.

You've surely got a nice collection there... I'm gealous! :p

If you're not very much into fighting games, I would recommend you the next:

Blue's Journey
Overtop Rally
Magical Drop 3
League Bowling (to play with firends!)
Windjammers (to play with firends!)

...and if you happen to have very much money to spend, I personally have fun playing stakes winnerswith friends, but that's a game that most of the people here won't recommend you! tickled

The Magical Drops look cool.

If you own one, do you need to other the other?

If you only need one, which is better?

What about Over Top... is it OK, good or GREAT? Can anyone shed more light n it...

I've owned and sold: Waku Waku 7, Last Blade 1 and 2, KOF 94-01 (kept 94 and 98), AOF 2 and 3, Real Bout Special. I have not owned Ninja Masters, but with my history of buying and selling my fighting titles so quickly I am hesitant to pony us $600 for a game that seems good, but not great... and I will very likely sell.

The only opthe rfighting game i THINK might be cool is Breakers. Anyone own it? Like it or hate it?

You are missing the three of the best games on the Neo

Twinkle Star Sprites

Overtop

and my personal favorite.....

Magical Drop 3

As far as the magical drop games go, I would say just get magical drop 3. 3 has some features that 2 dosen't have but both are basically the same game.

I personally love Overtop but I can see why many people would not want to spend the big money on it. It is a simple driving game with only 1 course. There are many hidden shortcuts and some shortcuts only make sense to use with certain vehicles. I get alot of replay value out of this game by trying to beat my previous scores.

@Gibby-
I had ALL of the KOFs (except 2002) and moved them out. Shawn has been selling my copies on Neostore for a while. Same with Real Bout (kept none). I'm just not a fighting game lover, in mmy mind, they are just Ok. Except Mark of the Wolves, I do love that one- lots!. ;-)

Twinkle Star Sprites? It looks rather silly. Am I selling it short?

How long does it take to beat?

Replay value?

Good by yourself? Or do you need friends?

I personally LOVE Twinkle Stare Sprites, but I don't think I will ever see the money to get the card and If I ever do have that much money at one time I think there are many more important things out there. But I have the CD version asnd it is very good. If you have a CD system, I recommend playing it first there and seeing if you like it. Replay value is high, but maybe not as much as magical drop.

I assume you have owned FF3, Sonic Wings 3 and WHP (the best in the series IMHO).

You are definitely missing:

Baseball Stars 2
Windjammers
Neo Turf Masters
Street Hoop
One Sidekicks (1 or 2)

Ninja Commando is nice, it’s an old game but the graphics are quite good/cool, if you like shooting games like the old Knightmare for MSX, or Mercs you may enjoy it, personally I do.

Spinmaster..mmm...get Top Hunter, Spinmasetr is quite childish and very short, nice graphics though. Top Hunter is way deeper.

On a side note I also find enjoyable the following games, but many people will disagree:

3 Count Bout (button masher)
KOM 2 (very hard)
Mutation Nation
8 Man

Overtop is rubbish.

By the time you find your self a nice copy and shelled out the big bucks for it, you'll be like "why the hell did I waste my time and money on this shit?"
It's like Thrash rally with better graphics, only Thrash Rally plays better.

Legend of Success Joe. You should definitly buy that.

OVER TOP made it to NGH format and SDB did'nt???
OVER TOP made it NGH and Driftout did'nt??
OVER TOP is probably the biggest rip-off game I've ever played..It's like once you find the shortcuts, the whole gameplay value is SHOT TO HELL.

If you want to get a platformer, get Blue's Journey. Ninja Commando is a good up-scrolling shooter. Metal Slug is only worth getting if you plan on getting all the Metal Slugs in which you have all of them except 1 and 2. But, as in replay value, I wouldn't spend $1500 on it. It's not a bad game at all, but, asking $1500 for it, is crazy.

Well put my friend :)

A glaring set of reasons why Overtop is just a vastly overpriced collection of silcon, plastic and paper. oh_no
