I love my AES. I like the feel and the look of the games, and I love owning the carts cause of the neat box/artwork/manual. For me owning the AES version is like having a trophy. It's really a collector's thing to me.

But, honestly, I have more fun playing the games on my cab than in front of my TV/Monitor. There's just something about playing it on a cab that makes the experience that much better.

MVS (with a Cab!!, not in front of the TV) is more fun. What do you guys think???

EDIT: Also, I have to add that I don't play my AES versions as much cause I don't want scratch them or nick them or whatever. I'm too afraid of hurting my babies :) . I do play them, I just don't change out the games as much so they don't get as much wear on them. It's almost too difficult to get out another AES game, whereas I can toss my MVS games around without any guilt :p .

I would much rather be playing my Neo games on my cab than in front of my TV. Not that I don't like my home system, its just not the same.

I say it is. I can never use a joystick for a home console it's not the same when you actually have a cabinet in your house. It's a great experience :D

Yeah, cab all the way. And like you said, you can toss the carts around more-or-less care free. Plus, with a 4 or 6-slot you can have lots of games to choose from at once. None of that cart swapping nonsense!

That's true. When I play KoF2k1 in my TV compared to when I play it at the arcades, I would have to say that arcade is more fun. It's just that special feeling of playing games in an arcade that makes it special.

I'm thinking of picking up an MVS cab for that sole reason. I love the AES, it's fucking awesome. Plus I love owning AES carts because of the way they look. I agree with Galford, it's like having a trophy. :) But I also want to get some of that good old fashioned arcade feeling. So I may look into one of the Neo Candy's or the regular old MVS cabs by the end of the year. A 25 inch 4 slot MVS would be heaven. :D

Totally agree with that. It's a whole new experience. An arcade in your house... think when you were young and wanted to buy one, now you can!

YOU MEAN THEY MADE THIS FOR CONSOLE TOO!??!

just kidding. I'm an arcade addict. I can't imagine why anyone would want to play a console when they have a cab in thier house. The whole idea of consoles were that you had to give up some of the features as a trade off for having it in a small set-top package.

I understand that you give up *ALMOST* nothing in the case of the neo, but still, I think consoles are second to arcade machines just because they aren't arcade machines.

I love both ways and having a cab and an AES I've gotta go with AES. I like sitting in a recliner and playing. Part of this could be though my gaming sessions tend to last LONG periods of time.

I agree.
I have AES and mVS but I only play on my cabinet.
It's just too hot and it feels like being in the arcade.

The MVS arcade experience is pretty much what brought 99% of us in the Neo Geo scene. AES is worth more money wise but the MVS has more sentimental value.

Once my parents move out of base housing and get a house built my mom is gonna have a game room and i'm gonna get a 4 slot or 6 slot and put that mofo in there.

I had an AES back in 1990-1994 and never liked the stick all that much.

Dumped it for the MVS and have never regreted it since.

for me MVS is the only way to play !

Truely the real thing with the real feel to it !

AES is neat from a collector view , but an overpriced piece of crap from a gamers perspective.

just my 2 cents.

Wow! I expected more people to say how much they loved their AES over a cab!!! Instead, all of you agreed with me.

Thanks for the responses guys.

If you wanna stir things up, try this:

The stand up MVS cabs are more fun than the sit down Candy cabs.

I'd rather have a stand up cab than a sit down one, I hate to sit while playing arcade games.

Excuse my ignorance guys, but before I joined the forum,I knew SFA of the AES. Remember Im living in the jungle here :) Solar powered cabs.

Having not even seen one in real life unable to compare, but I cant imagine it would be even close to MVS.

I can't stand using any type of joystick for a console. It just never feels "right" to me.

So its MVS all the way for me. I've never tried a sit down cab though, but my guess is I'd prefer standing.

I actually like my homecarts more than an MVS cab. You know, when it comes to collecting homecarts, I like to buy carts that are in nice condition. But not playing it because it might get a scratch on it is kind of crazy to me. They're meant to be played. I'm not saying I go crazy when I play my homecarts, but I'm not going to cry over normal wear. Maybe if you decided not to be so anal about your homecart collection you'd enjoy it a lot more (not meant as an insult). I agree with liking homecarts over MVS carts because of the artwork, booklet, etc too.. I guess that makes me like homecarts even more.

The only way MVS wins me over is for playing people in an arcade. People say they want "true arcade experience" in their own home, but the truth is you'll never have it. True arcade experience is playing in a room full of 30 other people you don't know, that at any time can come up to the machine you're at and hand you your ass. Just my views though..

Atleast when you have an arcade machine at home, it doesn't stink like an arcade. Well, atleast I hope peoples homes don't stink.

Where do you play arcades at? Back behind K-Mart? All the arcades I've ever been to, I've never had a problem with smell.

Not at all.

When you get a bunch of people togther, sometimes a distinct "arcade stink" starts to arrise.

This unfortunate bit of info comes from managing an arcade for two years. Though, I've noticed it at other arcades too.

Not all 'cades smell thought.

Now, let us never speak of this again!
