Mem Card, what is it for?

I have this question coz I notice that in KOF what mem card will do is just save a position (stage).

I realize that mem card doesn't save high score nor setting, is this true?

One of the big deals for the mem cards was that you could play a game at home on your AES, save the stage then continue at the arcade later, cool or what.

Yes SNK was the first...
N64 tried this with their memory card...but the only game I saw was NFL Blitz...

Of course, why would you play a game you own at home, go to an arcade and pay money to play the game you own already? Boy, I'm just a wet blanket today.

Well... it depends... in OverTop it saves the best time laps... :cool:
