Here is the deal. Re-Built my MVS system for Slug. Love Slug. But I must say I feel left out of this whole fighting game thing. 75% of the Neo's stuff envolves Punching your buddy in the head. Ok, that sounds good. Here comes the "Rub". If you were over my house what game (Under $100) would you put in my MVS system and say try that! Help convert me over. I will go buy the game and maybe I will see the light. I need easy combo stuff, none of this A+B+UL+D+A+R+(Semi Circle Clockwise)+AB+D to shoot out some lame as fireball! Appreciate your help.

I would definitely say Samurai Shodown II. It can be found pretty cheap, and it's my favorite game on the system.

If you dont like combos Samurai Shodown 2 is the game to get.

And Mark of the Wolves might cost you more than $100.

very low price, great gameplay but a bit outdated: SamuraiSpirits1+2 (I actually think that part 1 is better)

Samurai Shodown 2. It came out before fighters bcame combo-crazy, and doesn't rely on super moves.

I would go with Samurai Showdown or Fatal Fury Special.

I'd grab Mark of the Wolves, it is often seen going for 75$ on ebay (mvs). You have lots or quarter circle stuff for moves but i found them very easy to pull off. I tried this and kof98 at my local arcade and i'd say Mark of the Wolves is much easier to master than kof98. Try it, all my friends which do not play games a whole lot enjoyed it! Besides being no too hard, the game is so beautiful, one of the best looking game on the neo.

Try going for the Samurai Series first, start with the first game so you can get a feel for the Characters and what the represent in the game, then move to sequels, it's better to have some favorite Characters to build on, then move foward if you start with the more complex games or the best ones you may not appreciate how they got to that status, for eg whenI played the 1 Fatal Fury I though this was the best out there, Terry Became my No 1 Player. I mastered Terry in Fatal Fury special 1 of the Greatest Games, but as the games got better so did Terry, in the KOf series Real Bout, and even Capcom vs Snk series when you play with him in the Mark of the Wolves you understand more about the games and the story involving the characters so if you see my point here start small and move your way up, the reason why alot of people love fighting games is because they have a bond with the Characters they have been playing with for years..

If you don´t like "Beat-em-ups", maybe you´ve bought the wrong System, but you can change your opinion like most of the people who´ve played Neo-Geo one time, do.

Here are some amazing games on Neo:
1. Metal Slug III *Jump-n-shoot*
2. Pulstar *Shoot-em-up*
3. Blazing Star *Shot-em-up*
4. Magician Lord *Jump-n-shoot*
5. Last Resort *Shoot-em-up*
6. Top Hunter *Jump-n-shoot*
7. Nam 75 *Action, 3rd Person like "Dynamite Duke on MD/Genesis*

And some "Beat-em-ups" you´ll never forget and miss.
1. Mark of the Wolves
2. King of Fighters 98
3. Art of Fighting III
4. Real Bout - Special
5. Real Bout
6. Samurai Showdown IV
7. Art of Fighting II

These are my favs at all!!! :D

If you absolutely HATE fighting games, then there's no chance in hell you'll have any appreciation for the Neo. With that in mind, please send your MVS system to me. I'll be waiting for you outside of the south-side parking lot at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. Be there with the system (and Metal Slug) sometime between 10pm-1am on the 28th of March. Come alone!

Just kidding! Actually, my younger brother HATED fighting games until I showed him Samurai Shodown III. He wanted in, and plays it quite a bit. Give the Samurai Shodown series a shot. And if you're still turned off to fighters, go with either shooters (Pulstar and Blazing Star) or puzzlers (Money Puzzle Exchanger). Anything less would be uncivilized.

Hey man, who duped you into going to Lynn =)

Your better off going to FindAnotherUniversity. Nice to see there are some local Neo guys in the South Florida area.

Yeah yeah. I hear that ALL the time. I don't plan on leaving any time soon. I'm doing well in all of my classes, I'm making a whole bunch of new (and interesting) friends, and I've got my own anime club. I'll think about FindingAnotherUniversity AFTER either my junior year, or after I get my bachelor's degree.

Anyways, Shiftyfink, since you're probably more a non-fighter, I'd also suggest sticking with the Metal Slug series (X and 3) (and while you're at it, throw in Strikers 1945 Plus, Magical Drop 3, and Viewpoint).
