MVS and Shock Box Competition time - win some stuff!

I've mentioned a few times that I would be doing a competition soon. Well, it is and running on my site!!! (to celebrate its 3rd birthday) You can win some MVS stuff (a cart and also some shock boxes), so if you are interested come and check it out

Heres the Insert I made for Striker 1945.
Just need to modified for shock box.

Yes, you are very welcome to enter! If you can modify it to fit the shock box measurements (see the <a href="http://www.neogeoforlife.com/competition.shtml" target="_blank">competition</a> page on my site), then you can submit it to me either via email or by uploading it to some webspace and then sending me the link!

If you want to submit it another way (ICQ or whatever), just drop me a line and we can do that (whichever is easier for you). Make sure it is in at least bmp format if you can though... so long as it's printable

Actually maybe everyone is right now concentrating on saying bad things about the English KOF 2001 insert that's just been unveiled?

Actually I have received e-mails from people regarding this.I will answer their questions and send them over to your competition page...
As far as the English Insert not having the MEG COUNT,that won't be a problem for MVS Insert Designers
Although the artwork is from the Poster and MVS sheet,I don't have a problem with it.
The back cover of the english insert is better than the Japanese IMO.

Yeah - I don't think the KOF 2001 insert is too bad. It's not my fave insert ever, but it's not the worst either.

BTW, don't suppose you'd mind if the insert is in 3 pieces? (I usually make mine that way to print out on a regular home printer and to help size the parts easier) I do take a "preview" picture of it as a whole though. LMK!

I have a few questions. This is my first insert, please help.

1. Can you make custom logos for your game of choice?

2. Are there any standards such as: Positioning of Neo Geo and SNK logos or are there standard things that must be on any insert.

Super Spy - feel free to submit it in 3 pieces if you want, I am ok with that... if possible it would be better as one image, but if you prefer 3 separate pieces that is cool I can always piece it together for you if you want later...

Mr. Wizard - You can do whatever you want with your insert! If you want to be creative and make your own logo then that is cool... I'll be really looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

As for the positioning of the logo, don't worry about it too much. There are some templates on my site (see the competition page) which have a standard layout that you can use (with the Neo logo and the meg count etc)... but if you want to use an original design then that is totally cool.

TonioHC: It needs to be for a Neo Geo MVS game, as that is what the shock box cases are for... but be as imaginative as you like It does not matter which game however, just do an insert for the game you want!

Oh - you can maybe try these two sites for some images:

Not all images on those two sites will be of good enough quality for you to use, butyou may find something there. Check out <a href="http://www.netreach.net/~scop/" target="_blank">ShockHQ</a> for some examples of cases that other people have made to get some ideas if you want

Look at the links on the bottom right of ShockHQ too, as there is an ftp site linked there where there is a lot of Neo art scans too... just remember to use an ftp client and not IE to browse it if you can (and be nice and don't hammer it)
