Aside from the Metal Slugs, Mark of the Wolves, Kizuna's and other high end games....

The "normal" games such as the Sam shodowns, the last blades, the Riding heroes, the king of fighters are on a steady fall in price.

I remember when I first got into the scene(almost 3 years ago) that you couldn't get Samurai Showdown 2 for under $85.00 and now it's a $35 game.

I remember when Shock Troopers 2nd squad was going for $36o+ and now it's around $285.

Hell look at KOF 1998! I remember when you'd be getting a good deal at or around $200 for the game. Now it's what? Well under $150?

I've seen a few KOF 95, 96 go for under $100 recently.

Sam Shodown 3? This game was well over sub $100 that it is going for now a few years back...

I think that this trend will continue. Soon what we will have are all the "normal" games going for even more of a fraction of what they were selling for and the higher end games are going to continue to skyrocket until the next video game crash...

Do you agree? Do you not agree? It's your turn to share now

Agreed. Most games have fallen in price....good for me...I can expand my collection easily :)
All the KoFs have dropped, so have the SamuraiGames. When I got my Spirits2 for 25$ it was a damn good deal...a few years ago. Today it's 5-10$ below average.

Especially jp carts can be obtained for less than 1/2 of the price they were at a few years ago.

Hopefully the high-end games will drop to a normal price level too one day.

That´s true.

I mean games like SS2 is worth more than $35,00, also AoF II is much more worth, than most people handle it.
On the other side people handle these Slug-Series more than it´s worth.

Don´t know why???

Its great to see Neo AES carts prices coming down in price, its helps new collectors like myself, there is still alot of rip of merchants out there who still charge stupid prices.

I looked at Shawns store he does seem to charge alot still for titles like 2000?...

Well, in my opinion the prices are dropping, yes, but on the other hand is always harder to obtain real complete and mint items.

The NeoGeo carts are obviously items on the way of destruction. By use, by accidents (shipping, etc), by various 'aging' agents like dust and light.

Sunfade, scratched torned items are more and more ofter ot appear.

I wuold forseen a future 'split up' of the market: the price will probably go dropping for common and 'unmint' carts, while rarer and minty carts will go more and more expencive.

This is just my point, of course.

That's a great news! Even though I don't like to buy 'old' games, but it is great for those people who want to get into the Neo scene and start collecting.

My question is how about new carts, they sure has the same price right ?

I think it's a trend in every platform.

I remember PC Engine games were expensive couple years ago and now it's kinda low

Same as Neo game.

Of course the Neo AES game price will fall, even rare titles

Just wait and see.......

Remember that nobody gives any shit about Neo in 1996?

Video game is just like stock price.
How did you know that Dot.com will crash one after another three years ago?

I just sold my KOF98 for $105 and my Last Blade for $140 and they were both mint. I think that's quite a bit less than they are even now.

Great Point..Alot of the stuff I've received off of eBay in the past is definitely NOT collecter worthy.I've bid on auctions with the given description of "MINT" and when I received the games the mints were never included...because I don't considered torn, ripped, tattered, scraped, scuffed, water damaged, smokey and cracked...MINT.
If you are a GAMER like myself, the prices should always reflect the condition but in the past that has'nt been the case most of the time for me.

In these days, if you want a game in MINT conditions, you have to pay like an extra tax on the total... ;)

I think that now the Neogeo market is really "collector oriented"...IMHO

You´re absolutely right LiQUiD, in 1996 2 of my friends bought their AES Neo´s incl. several games for less than $150,00.
Even for a SS4, they´ve paid less $100,00.
Come on, some prices are quite ok. For example "KoF98", just around $150,00. It´s more than worth, course it´s a great game. But take a look at "Metal Slug 1", that price is too high IMO. Even for games like "Ninja Master" and others, but $300,00 for an US "AoF III" or "SS4" isn´t too much IMO.

History always repeats itself so I don't worry about those over-price Neo AES titles.

I still can't believe why I'm willing to spend $300 for "One" game........

But I know I'll do so if I still stay in Neo scene.......
