Hello, well ive had my Neo Geo CD now for about 2 years and pratically got every game now...

But Now i will be purchasing a NeoGeo AES

But... before I do that.. i need to know alittle about it

Does the UK AES System play All Games? Jap & US?

Whats the going rate for a AES in the UK?

Whats the best place to get games for it cheap?

A Neo Geo CD is an "AES", so you already have one. Now if you are looking for a Neo Geo console, yes a UK version will play all regions. Cheap games are older titles like Samurai Shodown 1&2, early FFs and AOFs, bstars 2 etc. I don't know the going rate of a PAL neo, check the selling forums.

Ok... maybe I should have said HOME CART SYSTEM
There ya go, drop the AES. It's a stupid term refering to Neo hardware in general. Like Super High Tech Game, and Pro Gear Spec.

According to the official Neo-Geo.com Glossary:

"AES/AES Cartridge

Term describing cartridges for the Neo Geo home system (also known as home carts). Stands for Advanced Entertainment System. The term originally described the system itself: the English language logo for the Neo Geo had “Advanced Entertainment System” stamped between the Neo and Geo -fulfilling the Japanese love for adding superlatives to their product descriptions. The term has now become a popular short hand for describing a Home Cartridge (i.e. “I traded my Robo Army CD for his Metal Slug 3 AES.”). AES carts are not compatible with the arcade (MVS) system (except by conversion). Alternatively described as "NGH" games."
Ok, AES has been shorthand for Home Carts for the longest time, how in the world could there be confusion between the Neo Geo CD and Neo Geo home system? NeoCD is always refered to as just that, NGCD.

Oh Chatterer, the best place to get games cheap is right here in the Selling forums. :)

I agree.
There's nothing wrong with calling the Home Cart system the AES...don't worry about it.

You're going to find people with different opinions about it---but its safe to say you're not committing any crimes by saying, "AES" :)

The selling forums are a great place to buy games; cheapest and safest prices on the 'net. Just make sure that you ask for references if you're concerned about a "newer" member...otherwise, it's a very safe place.*
