I have a theory... But it's just a theory.
I'm thinking that because games coming out for the Neo seem to be geared as "showcase" games, with large marquees and such, that maybe they are geared towards arcade operators who want to make a game dedicated as a new piece (as opposed to shelling out $1,000 for like KOF 2001 and having it in a cab barely noticed since it's next to Fatal Fury 1, Cyberlip, and Top Player's Golf. Also--I know there were quite a few 1-slot PCB revisions--did the multi slots ever get that many revisions? Arcade operators may prefer the 1slots to draw attention to a specific game rather than multiple games with less of a draw... Just a guess.

I believe it's because they now use Large marquees. I believe the 2-slot, 4-slot, and 6 slot, blew Americans minds and they could decide which game to play, so they didn't play any of them. Since this happened, they started with the large marquee so that way People knew which game it was ONLY and played it. Too bad they didn't think of just including it WITH the large marquee instead of just axeing them. Wish someone on the forums had access to a printing shop and could print marquees out for the NEW games on the REAL marquee material. *crosses fingers* Hey, Metal Slug 4 is coming out, anythings possible....lol
