Hello all,
It is great news to hear that SNKP has opened a US division, but what is the future of the US homecarts? When SNK-USA went under, Shawn started getting exclusive rights to sell US homecarts. Shawn has exclusively sold the last 7? Us homecarts.

So now that SNKP-USA has re-opened, do they plan on selling the US homecarts themselves? I cant see that SNKP would go and take away that from someone who has virtually kept them afloat in the US for the past 3 years.

Hopefully this SNKP will only be focased on MVS and port releases.

they will continue to use distributor(s), now wether they keep shawn as the exclusive distributor is in the air....

at 500 pieces i cannot see any real benefit in changing what's worked.

still the home cart is NOT their future at all the next gen consoles are,

Unfortunately (for the loyal fanbase), this is true. But SNKP has obviously shown its appreciation by keeping the Home Cart business afloat.

I wouldn't be too worried about it. They're focusing more on distributing PS2 games.

Are there any NextGen exclusive SNKP titles? Does this mean the PS2/XBox and their successors will become the SNKP/Neo Hardware platforms if we want to play new SNKP games?

Thanks, Droid

why not?
they aren't nintendo, sega, microsoft or sony -> they don't have to pay thousands of employees & commercials.

i'm pretty sure, that most of their games would end in the bargain bins, just a few weeks after their releases.

I've talked to a few players of SVC over the last 2 weeks and quite a few have stated that neo geo hardware is somewhat vintage from their perspective in comparison to modern arcade hardware.

I personally am looking foward to the death of 16 bit and some actual directed effort.

Have you been living in a cave?? Of course the neo is old out-of-date hardware! Modern hardware would be the death of Playmore, but if they decide that they want to go that route, then I will happily welcome their deserved fate.

Playmore IS moving to next gen consoles. Now that doesn't mean they will drop the Neo Geo, but it's kind of obvious when one of their main developers is looking to hire programmers with PS2 and GBA experience, as well as experience in 3D object modeling.

Noise Factory isn't Playmore. They have developed games for other hardware before, so why assume that these plans are for Playmore releases?

You are only kidding yourself if you think Playmore is going to support the Neo Geo forever.

They are probably making more money off the ports to next gen systems, than what they are making off a LIMITED NUMBER release of homecart games.

Na, I don't think that SNK/Playmore would make a 3D system, because they wouldn't stand a chance against Sony. But, I think Playmore is prolonging the inevitable, because the Neo Geo ain't gonna last forever, and they won't stand a chance making 3D games. I love the Neo Geo games to death, because they give me the classic type of 2D gaming, that I grew up loving. The Next-Gen systems are too emphasized on how the game looks and how realisitic the game is, and the 3D games get old after a while. But, the 2D games will always hold a special place within me, but, maybe I think that, because I grew up in the 2D era, maybe future gamers might think different.

Why did Playmore have to live in someone else's shadow then, eh? Keep in mind that those ports in question are still 16 bit games.

Of course not. But, I wouldn't really consider a GBA "next-gen" hardware either. I'm all for the GBA releases, although, even though it would make less money, it's a shame that Playmore isn't supporting the NGPC instead.

You just passed over 1000post!! Congratulations!!

Since Capcom cancelled creating games for the arcade, lets just hope that this wont happned for the playmore, since Neo-Geo is really old now!

But damn, Im so happy when new AES games is coming out!

Thanks man, I didn't even notice!
I'm also quite excited about all the current AES support, hopefully the Neo stays alive for awhile longer. I must say, if (or when) Playmore decides to kill off the neo, they will be killing their entire fanbase, and the company will fall bankrupt. Let's be honest, how many non-neo lovers do you hear ranting about Playmore and it's titles? ......exactly.

Next gen consoles may "suck", but they are still being made and are in millions of peoples' homes. You have your head up your ass if you think playmore has no intention of entering that market. Be thankful that they are still releasing homecart games. But I can tell you more units of KOF 2k1 were made for DC than the homecart counterpart.

Homecarts are for collector/gamers only, which is why the major arcade releases KOF, SVC are released in mass production runs for other systems. It is cheaper to press a DVD/CD than slap together a PCB with outdated material. There is a reason ROTD was not released for other systems, it wasn't popular enough. 100's of MVS kits sitting at $44 a piece should tell you something. Playmore didn't release it only on Neo Geo to be nice to the fans, they would be fucking stupid to waste money porting that steaming (yet fun to play) pile of shit.

The Neo Geo has had a great run, but you need to start being realistic.

No, no they cant just substance to ruin the money for the games. They must be wise with verbal so they can use something bigger, something to start of next generation. Since SNK institutions that have closed their doors, we got new companys such as Playmore, Evoga, Sun, Noise Factory and Brezil.

Altought, if Snk had lived today, oh man...games like SS0, SVC, and KOF2003 should have already been finished, much earlier than 2000. ROTD wont even exist, problably SNK would publish the game somewhat!

If you played Samurai Shodown 4, you should probably remember that the end of the game, there is a scrolling text right in the corner of the screen which says "To Be Contunie". This is where SS0 should be finished (maybe 1997), not after 7 years!!

I really don't understand what your point is, but SS4 had a couple sequels. Ever heard of the Hyper Neo Geo 64?

Fucking moron.
