The first advice I’d give would be to visit Neo-geo.com, but you’ve already done that.

After that, I’d say you should browse some of the polls in the Gameplay forum to get an idea of what games people rate and then look at the reviews section here and at Kazuya’s to get some more depth.

Think about which ones you fancy and then pay a visit to the price guide to decide which ones you can afford, from there, head over to the selling forums and see what is available. Generally, you are better to buy here than at ebay, especially ebay.co.uk.

That’s what I’d do.

Sorry, I can't answer your question about the memory card, as I don't have one of my own.

However, if you are going to take Black Spy's advice and try out the selling forums, make sure you deal with experienced people who have references. You can usually find references in the bottom of people's signature, for example:

COOL PEOPLE I HAVE TRADED WITH: So-and-so, Mr.X, JohnSmith2000
GREAT SELLERS: So-and-so, Mr.X, JohnSmith2000
You get the picture.

The only time a memory card is to save a spot where you got game over last or the last boss if you beat the game. The memory card does not save your settings in the game or your hiscores. They reset to their default settings every time you power up the game. About the blue screen business, you shouldn't be getting a blue screen, you should have the usual Neo Geo intro and then the game will start.

Thanks jedite, very useful info about the memory card.

With regards the blue screen let me clariy. What i am trying to find out is when the power is switched on with no cartridge inserted should you get a ' home screen ' with for example a neo geo logo ?

Do you know where i could read about specs and accesories regarding the neo ?

Thanks again

If you turn on the console without a cartridge inserted, all you get is a blue screen. Just normal!

Yes, that's normal. It's not like the GBA, where you have no cartridge inserted, it shows the intro.

Also, avoid getting into arguements unless you know both sides of the story, you've come for the Neo Geo, you'll stay for the drama.

And yes you can leave the memory card in the neo. I've left the same darn memory card that i've had for 12 years in the NEO almost all the time. Still saves just as well as it did brand new.
