Why is ROTD so cheap on MVS?

Seriously, the game came out only a year ago, and the price on new kits has avalanched - it costs even less than some of the older KOF games!

Did it do so bad in the arcades that retailers slashed the price or is there another reason?

Just curious because I'm considering picking up a kit @ Neostore.

Oversupply, underdemand. The usual reasons.

I suppose Playmore just thought it was going to do a lot better than it really did.

Should you get it? At the current price I did. I quite enjoy it, but I am dreadful at fighting games and in no position to comment on its worth to serious fighting gamer.

I bought it, and I don't even own a cab...or a Phantom...

God thats sad. But hey its $44 for a complete, minty MVS kit. Thats a STEAL. And the game isn't that bad anyway.

I think it's because not many people like the game, I like it, the only thing I have against it is the characters voices, I can barely hear them.

i would drop $100 on this game with no remorse. I enjoy it, its different and if you just want to throwdown on a decent fighting game thats what its there for. It doesnt have a lot of depth but i still think its a solid fighter to have fun with and well worth it. Now the homecarts selling used for $300 and up is a little rediculous but hey, collectors, what can you do about them hehe.

I feel fucking retarded for buying the game at $180. I enjoy the game, but as a single player experience, what with Johann being what he is, it can get pretty frustrating if you aren't a master fighter and good with patterns.

If it was $44 (plus s/h), I'd jump all over it. It's fun enough to pay $50 for. Hell, it was fun enough to have gotten it when it was $75. Any more than that and it's not worth your time.

I must admit that it does get quite hard sometimes when if things are going less than well in the game stakes money that was once stupid and cheap is like it is now, You really need to go buy this game right now. No, seriously... what are you still
doing reading this review? I said GO BUY THIS GAME RIGHT NOW!

Cheaper than a new PS2 game. It's low because they made too many.

ROTD is freakin great. There were just too many MVS carts made, if you look at the AES price it's still up there.

Anyone who has an MVS is required to buy this game now. NOW!

I bought mine from the neo store and am happy with it. The juggle feature is cheap, and you end up just waiting your turn to juggle your opponent back, but its worth the $54 total. Enjoy your minty fresh 2002 fighter for under $60 bucks. If for nothing else maybe it will be your first and last brand new MVS cart.

I know why it is so cheap. It is a stinker. One of the worst carts I ever played. World Heros 1 runs laps around this turd. My friend paid 70 for it and we played it for a week and he still felt like he was ripped off. Save your money for an old classic like Last Blade 2,Garou,KOF 94-99,Samurai 1-4 etc.

Another reason must be the fact that it has a bug and doesnt play on a good deal of one slots which makes the game virtually useless on some of the boards. i actually quite liked the game but as it kept resetting on my one slot it made the game not worth having so i sold it.

Man that is just sloppy. How can a company release a game with bugs in it. I find it to be unacceptable. Why rush a game and piss people off, when you can delay it and make everyone happy. Maybe they are learning their lesson and that is why SVC got delayed (But of course I am just guessing) :)
