I dont know. I have University bills to pay and whatnot. I've set aside the cash for SVC, but ever sinse the announcement of SS0 coming soon, I've begun to second guess my spending/ I'd like to, and probably will buy both, and it seems like they may be coming soon after the other.

I dont know much about the SS0, but I do love SS and SCV looks like sequal bate right now.

At the moment, Im really torn. Anyone in the same situation I am??

True. I can sell a kidney, I guess. It's not fair that we've been in a slump with releases that dont intrest me..and then, out of no where, we have two things I want.

I'm hoping either SS0 is either really amazing, or really mediocre, so It will make the choice much easier.

I know SVC is at least a solid game with cool value...and it can lure some of my Capcom-headed friends to play some more neo.

Bah, the choices!

I was thinking the same thing. Honestly, since the last hurrah of SNK in 2000, what have we got that was worth owning? Nothing really. Just mediocre titles that would not be missed if they had never been produced.

Having Samurai Spirits Zero just pop up was a bigger shock than SNK vs. Capcom because I knew it was going to come out at some point, but I honestly didn't think we would get another Samurai Spirits game, yes it was rumored to be under development in the final days of SNK along with The Last Blade 3 and MOTW2. Kind of is funny that for the first time since 2000 there are actually Neo titles I feel are going to be must haves. I think SNK vs. Capcom should be a solid game and it's definitely going to be worth a purchase because I'm more than sure it'll blow the Capcom installments right out of the water. SS0 I have doubts on, but if it is better than SS4, then we should be good to go.

I really am torn...

I have 500$ for SvC right now...but then again, Samurai Shodown was the reason I got a neo-geo.

I'm gonna have a hard time...cuz...well...SNK vs. Capcom is looking damn sweet...but SS0 will be cool too....i dunno.

Gonna try for both but if I had to chose SS0 no doubt. I mean the main reason I'm getting SvC is for a 2D shiki. I don't care much about capcom to tell you the truth.

I'm getting both. I've waited MANY years for a new SS game and have wanted an SNK made Vs came since the idea was concieved back in 99. It'll put in the whole quite a bit as far as cash is concerned, but for a good game I'll pay pretty much any ammount as long as I'll get a lot of play out of it. I'm a collector, but I only collect what I play.

With the price point for the MVS version of SvC:C set so damn high it looks like I'll be waiting for it to drop so I figure that I'll have SS Zero in hand well before SvC:C.

Ahhhhh...SS Zero........cancer prevention.........

Too early to call now, but if both kick ass I'm definitely getting both. Holding a part-time job during school is actually gonna be worth while this time around :D

It's a genuinely tough question...yes, SvC is the stuff that many of our dreams has been made of for quite some time. The problem with this title is that its virtually assured that a superior sequel WILL raise it's head eventually.
Not only that, but I still have some issues with the roster. Way too many Shotos and oddball fucks that really have no place in this game (CHOI CHOI CHOI). If this game had some more people like Alex, Ibuki, Ralf, Leona, Guy, Eiji, I'd be much more excited about it.

I need a lot more info about SS0, but right now I'm genuinely intrigued. It's also been SO long since we had a good SS installment.

I want to try both somethin' awful, but I'm trying to keep my expectations low. The jury is still out on Playmore's ability to actually create something truly NEW. KoF'02 wore pretty thin after a while. I hope these games don't suffer from the same thing.

SvC Chaos no doubt.

I mean I like SS as much as the other guy, but I really don't play it very seriously at all. I mean I WANT to get into it, but other things demand my time.

Still I plan on getting both, but I'll probably pay more to buy SvC than I will to get SS0. God I hope these prices drop soon! frown

Well I know that I will not buy SVC, thats for sure, only b/c by default that i'm not a fighting game nut (just like to play them once in a while).

I do hold SS0 in much higher regard because it is Samurai Showdown, and its weapon based. To me fighting games are more exciting when fighting with weapons. I still will not buy SS0 right away however. Too much money. Maybe years from now when it drops down to around $125. MS5 still looks promising, despite threats of sprite recycling. I am just interested in some great shooting action. If a Blazing Star Sequel were on the horizon however... i'd be all over it.

I still have other NEO games to buy before that one.

Here's the deal:

Do you play vs your friends a lot, or 1 player?

If you're a 1 player guy, SS0 is for you.

Trust me.

KoF and Samurai Shodown games are at opposite ends of a spectrum, and SvC is on the KoF side - the vs. side. Samurai Shodown has always been fun for 1 player action, although I can spend hours in vs as well. KoF style games though get old fast. IMO.

For me, I get every new release. Can't help it.

Hmmmm.. Well, I'll probably buy Chaos first. It'll be some time before SS0 will be available, and I'm sure by the time it is, I'll be ready for something fresh. Let's just hope once SS0 is released, we aren't in a similar boat wondering if we should get SS0, or Chaos 2 when it's announced.
