Went and played it myself just tonight and its fucking fantastic, by far the best fighter I've played in a long time.

-Is it slow? Yes.
-Do I care? No.

-Are the sprites iffy? Yes, a bit.
-Do I care? No.

-Is the gameplay there? Fucking yes.

Great fucking level design, sparse at worst, highly detailed at best. The music I could barely hear, sounded pretty good. Sound effects were fucking top notch as were the animation and effects. This game boasts the best fireball I've seen in any previous SNK or Capcom effort.

Genjuro doesn't look redrawn, some of the sprites animate faster than others(Vega(ninja), Kim, and Dhalsim mostly).

Fucking great, FUCKING GREAT. CAN'T WAIT FOR HOME RELEASE.

Loopz' problem is he forgets times change and this isn't the SNK of 1995 or around there.

I really expect very little from SNK-Playmore because if you really think about it, it is utterly impossible for them to match the old SNK because they simply don't have the same people there. Although I don't miss Shinkirou at all...his art had run its course in my opinion. So it is harder to be disappointed because the talent is simply not there, accept it and move on. Don't like it, then don't support it. No purpose in expecting much from a company that hides itself in the shell of a great company to make a buck. The last truly great game to come out for the Neo was Metal Slug 3.

lol.

I pretty much agree.

Loopz has strong opinions, and I pretty much respect them. I just respectfully choose to disagree this time.

They had it on a super nice new screen [probly because it was a jamma...they had moved the MVS machine with the shitty controls down away] and all of the detail could be seen crystal clear. I think the Capcom characters look amazing...especially Bison. Honestly, Bison just looks so fucking amazing...it's hard to explain.

Despite the fact that even these new joysticks played like rubble, once I got into my Ken groove I think I handled myself pretty well. The Two-Button throw is probly the best thing I've ever heard of in a game...I could never quite pull off Forward+A easily---but these new throws? Great times man.

Backgrounds have a lot of cool details I couldn't really notice in videos and such. Blowing dust, flickering lights, etc.

Anyways, I just love the game and think its amazing. I suck on joysticks...I suck worse on broken joysticks...yet I managed to do pretty damn well and have a great time. The game is great...going back to play tomorrow at noon.

----boring impressions----

. two-button throw works great for me, but of course, i'm more used 3d fighters

. guiles strong sweep is fucking tricky lol. he takes two swipes at you! constantly fooled me...but im a chump.

. mr karate is insane. how you're supposed to beat that man, i have no idea. dan, on the other hand, was pretty easy.

. kim animates smoothly. tons of great graphic touches on his clothes during his moves...a very impressive character to watch all around.

. the ai is cheaper than anything i've ever seen. especially with fireball characters...and ESPECIALLY with goenitz.

really thats all i have to say tonite.
great game...purchased without a second thought.

Oh yeah. When Dhalsim dashes, for a split second he's contorted like the biggest pretzel ever.

hmm i think MS4 rox, as well as KOF 2k2, Matrimelee and ROTD. I think Playmore is doing damn good, i just felt some evidence of PLaymore blandish BGs goin on in Chaos yet when i played tonight and took note the forest did have a lot more detail then i noticed before. I guess its the ruins stages where it seems so bare in the BG. I actually think the game is kind of quick not sure why some find it slow, i feel its perfect balance. I mean you dont always need TURBO SUPER DELUXE HYPER MAX where rounds last 10 secs. But im still not feelin Genjuro for this game.

I think people find it slow since it uses the FF style double lifebars so fights last longer. I saw a handful of time-overs during my experience with the game this evening.

I've played it today. AI is hella cheap. Couldnt get passed balrog. When I played against shinki I won, but then these nerds came out of nowhere with a guide and beat my ass.

ahh duh ok im thinking of a different type of speed meaning the characters and gameplay itself not the actual timed matches. Yea i too have noticed many times where time-overs took place. I personally enjoy longer matches you get to actually fight more and longer which i felt too many fighters often lacked.

Many people have said it. 2K2 IS THE YEAR OF THE FUCKING TIME OVER.
I swear, like every other match I have with someone is a endless time over win or loss.
Turn the time off when you guys play 2k2.
