How can you tell if a MVS cart has a photocopied label vs a real one? For instance I have a League Bowling cart that has a label that looks like this:

<a href="http://ebay0.ipixmedia.com/abc/M28/_EBAY_bdbb772825ffee05de1d8a15b805710d/i-2.JPG" target="_blank">http://ebay0.ipixmedia.com/abc/M28/_EBAY_bdbb772825ffee05de1d8a15b805710d/i-2.JPG</a>

But I've seen several that look like this: <a href="http://ebay3.ipixmedia.com/abc/M28/_EBAY_a55c2b5fd90653fcf64aaa5ef7fc6a65/i-1.JPG" target="_blank">http://ebay3.ipixmedia.com/abc/M28/_EBAY_a55c2b5fd90653fcf64aaa5ef7fc6a65/i-1.JPG</a>

See the difference? Is the top one a fake and the bottom one real? The both look odd to me (not like the later MVS labels).

The top one is a fake, but doesn't mean that the cart is a bootleg. You just got a reprinted label. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but its looks like an MDGamesales label reprint.

Bottom label is original.

The top one looks like a label you'd get from MD. Like lithy said, doesn't mean it's a boot.

Woah woah. Is MD a bad dealer to buy from? I was planning on buying some carts from them..

Yeah, that looks just like the Art of Fighting 3 label from a cart I got from mdgamesales. Don't worry, I'd trust him selling me the real thing more than I would any seller on ebay, I've probably gotten half my MVS carts from him.

Oh I'm not worried about it being a boot or anything, I'm just kinda ticked that it has a fake label on it (I guess it's the collector in me). Still I got it for a song ($25 I think) so I guess I don't mind.

BTW is this the normal Magician Lord label: <a href="http://ebay2.ipixmedia.com/abc/M28/_EBAY_469255c3076bfa4ecce56ed74a15c632/i-1.JPG" target="_blank">http://ebay2.ipixmedia.com/abc/M28/_EBAY_469255c3076bfa4ecce56ed74a15c632/i-1.JPG</a>

Because my ML and Baseball Stars both have that weird label with the Mega count at the bottom. I assume they only did that on the earliest of carts.

Anyone have a high quality scan of the real League Bowling label so I can print one off? My friend has a professional printer with a nicer paper stock that I think will do the job.

Briggs had some label project started on his <a href="http://www.hardmvs.com" target="_blank">www.hardmvs.com</a> site let me see if I can get a link.

There it is but the project isn't finished yet so the pics aren't up. Not sure if you could PM Briggs and ask him for a nice scan or not.

Well, if it has that label on it, chances are the old one has just faded away or was otherwise unreadable. MVS carts get handled roughly sometimes, he wouldn't have done that otherwise.

Me, on the other hand, I will put a label on it if it's in japanese just so I can tell what the game is. But hey, that's me.
