In this months Classic GI Samuri Shodown was shown. Strange though is that they reviewed the 3do version! Why they rate a port I have no Idea but as the magazine quotes....
"One could even consider SS the precurser to the fighting style the Virtua Fighter series has perfected."

"Unfortunately, this version suffers from a few flaws such as poor sound, choppy graphics, and the 3DO's stiff controller. So, if it's authenticity you want, the original Neo Geo game is still king."

I just read that as well. I guess the reason they reviewed the 3DO version is that it was a little more obtainable for the casual gamer.

My question is how SS compares to Virtual Fighter even a smidgen more than any other game. Sounds purely stupid, but maybe someone can point out a similarity that I'm overlooking.

what what whaaat?! Heresy! SS had combos man.. you just had to look for them, and there was no "2 hit rush" indicators back then. Combos looked more solid and meaningful back then... and dont get me started on SS2 combos...
