Just wondering if any of you out there know of people who are into the neo but not into posting on forums or maybe probably don't even have a computer?

Well, I'm here in the Twin Cities right now and know this guy Ghengis. He doesn't post here, and as far as I know he is still waiting for his computer to be up. Anyway I don't like the guy. He thinks he's all that and a bag of chips. He flaunts what he has in front of your face. He thinks and acts like he has more stuff than you and wants the people around him to be impressed by him. I think some of the posters here know him like Verbatum and Shadowland. He obviously needs to visit sites like these where it is common for people to have LOTS of stuff. Anyway I find him to be a total loser. He also smokes weed and gets high before playing games. I can tell it messes up his memory when we converse. Anyway that's someone I know who is hardcore but not connected to the internet. I'm sure there are others out there. buttrock

I really don't know. I use to, but for all I know he does post here. Anyways this question is like asking if a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it does it still make a sound.

And yes, Ghenghis does apparently post here.

I haven't met him. While I was in Minneapolis during my first school year there I did meet Shadowland, THEMAN, Spike, Verbatum, GregN, CritereonRadioHead, Naitram, Nick Goracke(sp?), Vincewy, and even Mouse Master came up for a family reunion

I'm just here for about 10 days. I'm going back. The Ghengis I'm talking about is the former Games to Go employee NOT the other one. Even Verbatum said there's 2 Ghengis' and the one who posts here is not the one I'm talking about. The Ghengis who I'm talking about (the one who doesn't post here) used to work at Games to Go and currently works at a skateboard shop and is really into skateboarding. I'm sure Verbatum and Shadowland can straighten this out. They know who I'm talking about. They apparently know this person since they live in the area. This Ghengis is going to be 31 years old and has a kid.

Ah yes, now that you mention it, that was mentioned to me too.

-along with the wildly different descriptions. The young Ghengis sounds like quite a character...

OK!! Now who is this young Ghengis you're talking about. Is it the one I was talking about or the other one.

it's not like they're as fun as their american counterparts anyway. I prefer the american arcade parts anyday. Otherwise I'd have to play sitting on a stool 1 foot from the ground. that's no way for a gaint such as myself to live

I have a feeling I may be switched around as I never met either one. Let's try it this way: there is a lame one like you described, and an okay one that posts here. I was saying the lame one must be quite a character from the things I've heard (misogynistic tendencies, etc).

Well I know this one dude that lives in Del Rio Texas, (Raul Ledesma) who has two 6-Slot MVS units in his garage next to one 2-Slot Candy Cab, and practically every MVS cart you can think of save Protos and shit. In fact his whole garage is just a video game room period, with wall scrolls and older than shit posters of any and all games, plus teh NEO:GEO stuff. He doesn't own a computer as he hates the things, doesn't intend to get one (even though I mentioned this community and be able to interact with everyone in here, plus get some deals). Thus he's the most Hardcore Neo... heck GAMER PERIOD that I know personally. He's kind of a reculuse though, as he doesn't really like too many ppl, hell he barely can stand to talk with me for more than half an hour... but since I only go to Del Rio once in a blue moon to visit my grandmother or on a Courier run, that by the time I see him (if he's home) he's usually just wanting a fellow comrade in which to "beat down on" since I suck at VS. Fighting Games (as I'm the 2nd Brigade Neo Gamer = Actiony stuff) and he gets all of his MVS stuff from an arcade vendor in Mexico (so I'm sure a good deal of his shit might be boots) but I've checked between the slits of about 45 of his MVS carts and they all have legit ROMS in them with the whole Toshiba V- Serial numbers and what not.

Thus yeah, I'm sure there's more than not who are hardcore into NEO and other systems that just don't either know about NG.Com or who aren't online.

OK so I'm assuming we are talking about the same person; the one who doesn't post here. So what exactly have you heard about him you said mysogynistic tendencies, what else, can you be more specific as to what you heard? Cause the guy really did NOT make a good impression on me.

Yeah, the guy who got me into the Neo.

He's just not a BBS kind of guy, and these days he's more into emulation. The release of SS0 has got him pretty excited though, he mentioned that he might have to buy a copy.

Since I've never met the person and everything I've heard is hearsay, I'd rather not. Verbatum could probably give you an impression if you PM him.

I actually know 2 people who ever heard of a neo-geo and own one and they are also posting here.....

1 I already knew, and the other I met here :)

the rest of the dutch scene is probably dead or blissfully ignorant about this site or the neo in general....these other 2 guys are the most fanatic dutch collectors I`ve seen or heard from so far. So if you where planning on finding some guys in a cellar, with no internet connection and all the neo games ...don`t bother, they don`t exist here :D

Yes, a good man by the name of Zelco who manages the most profitable EB in Hamilton. Awesome man. Has a video game collection...Jesus...just, ive never seen anything like it. It enormous. Has some rare shit Like US MSX and whatnot. Doesnt care to post here. He just has everything, though.

I'm insanely jealous of his collection. And his car.

Dude got his mint condition neo with 7 games years back when some one brought it into EB. He payed 175 for it. I dont think he was ripping him off though. He just felt that is what it was worth. He didnt even know what his mint us MSX was worth till i told him. He was telling me when he bought it from SNKUSA, he spoke with Alicia Barone on the phone to make the order.
