In a fairly recent trip to Akihabara, I decided to browse around the shops. One of them just happened to have these:

I was particularly getting at Chibi Maruko-chan Deluxe Quiz. Is that one really worth it's asking price? (let alone Blazing Star)? Just curious.

That Blazing Star seems about right, but isn't that about 2 grand for Quiz? Seems high. . .

Condition goes a long way, but at first glance:

Maruko-Chan = expensive (probably even in like new shape)
Matrimelee = Fair/Good price
Blazing Stars = Quite average

2 grand for a game you won't even be able to play unless you can read Japanese. I'd say that one is for the collectors only.

Despite those prices Trader is still the best store to shop. Most of their games are really well priced, usually below market value and in great condition. KOF 2000 is like $100 and i bought my real bout and KOF 99 there for $50 each in mint condition. Awesome, Awesome place. If you go to Japan definately go there for your neo stuff.

Limited 500 production run pieces were made. That game sells for VERY HIGH BUCKS at eaby.

Still worth more getting this one than that stupid Marukochan. 2 Grands for a game without any translation possible ?

Japanese lessons are quite too much expensive to learn just because of a Quiz game...

I was in that store while I was in Japan. Both quiz chibis I saw were that expensive. It is one of the few carts that is more expensive over there. Maruko-chan is a classic anime or something that everyone loves.

Darius Alpha...Blazing Star...and many more.

I really need to organize a trip to Japan at the end of the year. The land where no rare or ultra rare game cannot be found in a store.

It almost makes me shed a tear seeing how they are displayed freely on a shelf and here in the US we don't see things like that. Just multiple copies of the flavor of the month.

US gamers suck.

I swear...all the great games that never made it here because people want their fancy 1337 graphics with gameplay that has no substance.

This is a big "FUCK YOU" to the bastards of mainstream gaming that made Japanese companies shun us.

I just want to walk into a store in the US that has expensive import titles hanging from the ceilings and more.

I dream of that.

Ok I had enough to drink tonight. Forgive my pointless drivel that came about when seeing the joy of those games.

Amen to that, I feel the same way. Today a mainstream gamer friend of mine came over and was playing Last Blade 1 since I had it running when he walked in and he said "I can't wait until Soul Calibur 2 comes out, a quality game unlike this one". I then said, why do you think it is so great, is it because everyone else likes it? He said "There is a reason everyone likes it, because its a good game. How many people like the Neo-Geo besides hardcore fans? Not many, that just proves that Soul Calibur 2 is better then those Neo games". I then said "You don't like Neo-Geo games because you like to button mash and NG games don't allow gamers to do so and win, Soul Calibur lets you get away with mashing so you feel you are a skilled player." I was so annoyed and mad, all this was comming from a guy who can't even pull of a dragon punch motion correctly. 99% of US gamers suck ass, period.

It's just an all-boss battle based on Darius (of course).

A lot of mixed feelings on how 'good' it is.

Just wondering really,i saw it once it a mag and how it was one of the most famous PC Engine titles....only because it was like £750+ and had only like 500 copies...just a little hype.

I didn't think the game would be much cop.I always did like Darius though, very good music.
