Hello fellas,
Can some here please verify this.?
Im planing to buy the legendary AES system this week.Since we are all used to the current next-gen system's.Its kinda hard to ajust to anything below its standarts. So arcade perfect quality is the only way to go.

Thanks

Listen man!

You have to listen to me!

Delete this post, because this is flame bait in the making.

Get rid of it and change your user name.

The pain! The agony!

Guilty without trial!

The AES games are the EXACT same chips as the arcade counterparts with the AES system enabling the console version.

The bios determines the MVS or AES version!

Now delete this post with haste!

Um, yes.

They are the EXACT SAME HARDWARE. Just different jumpers in the carts and BIOS on the boards.

Yeah they are exact and the home version has extra features but you could just go with a supergun and save like a billion dollars :)

MVS is the way to go. You'll complete your collection faster and cheaper. That's if you don't mind loose carts, complete kits can be a bitch. But most people just buy loose carts and buy shock boxes (homebrewed cases) and printed out instructions.

What xtooshort means is that the home cart versions are somewhat like the arcade version except that the home cart versions have extra modes like pratice and whatnot. Also, the home cart version has a set amount of continues of 4 (some have 5), which a lot of people don't like. But, the gameplay, sound and music is exactly like the arcade version. If you do get a home cart system, you can get a debug bios from the Neostore.com which allows to change between home cart version and arcade version(you have a coin command, which you can put as many coins as you can), but, you would need to know how to install it or have someone you know install it.

Its not arcade perfect.

'cuz at my house I don't have two fat guys looking like they're having epileptic fits trying to play DDR with a bunch of fuckin' Hot Topic wearin DDR bitches hanging around.

That would be arcade perfect. :D

Let the flaming begin! mr_t

The RGB video output of the MVS is superior to the AES one. Period. You'll never get the same video quality you would get with a real arcade monitor, your TV is just not capable of that.

It's getting hot in here, isn't it?

The home system games themselves have an options menu, but the game data on the carts are exact. The difference between the console and arcade is that the arcade has better video output, but you can modify the console to add S-video or RGB if that's what you want. It sounds to me like you should be looking for a Neo Geo arcade Machine (MVS). Cost wise they are about the same price as the console and the games are a bit cheaper with the exception of new releases.

Not to try and defend him but there really wasnt any need to hate on him for asking a simple question about what he was about to spend his money on. I mean a new NEO fan should be welcomed b/c we are in fact a dying breed among the stupid ass next gen gamers out there who think that Final Fantasy started with 7 and that Grand Theft Auto 3 is the greatest game ever made. And sadly those types of guys are the majority in todays society.

AHHHH Nothing like 2d goodness. I would rather spend 400 hard earned money on 1 good NEO title than 400 hard earned money on 8 crappy ass PS2, XBOX, or GC games *cough Enter the Matrix cough*

Actually, if you install a Unibios in a MVS board (which is very easy and cheap to do, much more than the debug bios in AES), you get all the AES options plus the MVS advantages and even cheats, etc. So this is another advantage of the MVS.

Bingo. :)

I mean seriously, if you are saying you have difficulty adjusting to anything below the standards of next gen systems, you're probably not going to be able to adjust to the graphical change. I personally see nothing wrong with the Neo graphics, but I can't tell you how many times I have heard next-gen n00bs say that they suck. Not to mention when you want certain games you're going to be paying a hell of a lot of more money for them as opposed to next gen games. Make sure you know what you are getting into because I don't want to hear you bitching about how the games "suck" a few weeks from now.

The only problems I have with the home system (US version) is that you usually only will have 4 credits/continues per controller, and there is censorship on many games (Samurai Showdown, Last Blade 2, etc.)

But a debug bios chip will solve all of that shit.

Isn't there an <a href="http://images.google.com/images?q=tbn:Tb87H0Hn5ccC:member.nifty.ne.jp/igp/supersellers" target="_blank">rgb cable</a> for the home system and cant you get an <a href="http://www.massystems.com/RGBMonitor.html" target="_blank">rgb monitor</a> from massystems.

Now wouldnt that give you the rgb video output of a real arcade monitor. spock

3D is out, 2D is in!!!

It`s simple, go to an arcade and if you like the neo-geo`s that you see buy the damn expensive console.
Otherwise please buy the eye toy for your ps2 and wash some windows with it :)
