At Domino-Chan's request, I'm mentioning this here in case some of you missed this in Unrelated. It looks like there's gonna be a get-together for Houston-area members at Starcade. It's looking like it will be held on Friday, August 1st. Anyone think they can make it? If so, post here! I think it will probably be in the evening to the wee hours of the morning (that's what I gathered from Qube's post). The details aren't quite solid yet but I'm sure by then we'll have it worked out by then. I hate to volunteer him for this but I'm sure if you PM Qube he can give you directions (actually it would be a good idea if he could just post them here).

I'll see if I can swing by qube's place since he lives near my dad's. That way I'll have a ride up. Or I can call my other friends and they can hang out with us.

Well I would go however 1st is a bad day for me, I have a meeting with all of the con staff to go over budgets and do a progress report. so no can do.

umm yes, is this Stargate Arcade? Or a actualy placed called Starcade?! If so where the hell is it?!

Ya know, I might have the name wrong. I'm not the best with names, heh. Qube?? Care to shed some light on this?

Yes, it is indeed the STARGATE arcade. It is located on Webster and Chenevert right outside of downtown Houston. I can not seem to find the address on Yahoo maps or yellow pages. I will call the owner, Chris, and get the address from him later on.

Phil, I'm really sorry to hear you can't make it. Maybe you could come out after your meeting?

I'm still up for "Storm Riding" up there with my Fiancee' (strange that she wants to go to a video game shindig?) But anyhow I was wondering... Just what NEO:GEO games are at this StarGate arcade to be played? Is this just a "Vs. Fighting" Tourney or is there other Uprights to be played as well? Is this shindig going to be just there... or are we en mass going to head somewhere else afterwards (Say an all night diner) and hang, or even head to someone's pad and break out personal collections and what not? I'm just trying to figure out the scope of this shindig is all. I can bring my MEGA JET along if it's going to be all over the place and we can play some M.D. as well as NEO if anyone's interested in that to boot.

So what's the unabridged details on all this? Games? More than one place? What?

We passed by Stargate today. Think perhaps we could meet up at first at one of the restaurants nearby (Tokyohana perhaps)?

Man I wish there were bigger plans than there are. Haven't seen too much interest on the board though. The arcade is pretty much an all fighting game arcade, with a few exceptions. It has about 30 or so cabinets, about 27 of them are fighting games. Everything from 2 Neo's to all the SF's to Mortal Kombat and Guilty Gear XX! They also have DDR and some puzzle games on the Neo. I am not sure what other games Chris has up at the moment b/c he changes the boards out frequently.

I really didn't have any plans for afterwards except for maybe going out to eat or something. I would love to have everyone come back to my place, but I don't think that my wife would be up for that. My place is also really small Hopefully someone with a house will show some interest and maybe we can go there afterwards?

I wish I had more details to give you, but since the meet up is pretty un-official, there aren't many to give. Only 3 or 4 people have replied to the thread so far I posted up at snk-capcom.com too, but no one has replied over there either.

I know this wasn't much info for you, but if you have any other questions lmk and I will try to give you some answers.
