Is Metal Slug 4 that bad?

Haven't seen too many reviews on this game online, but what's the verdict on Metal Slug 4? I'm pretty sure it can't top MS3, but how does it compare to the rest of the series?

hell no, Metal Slug 4 is not bad in the slightest. It may not be half as good as 3 but it still rocks. If it were the first and only slug game then everyone would love it i reckon, but when the other slug games are so brilliant

it is hard to improve on the series. Still a top notch game though especially with the new weapons (double machine gun) and the stages with vehicles (motorbikes etc)

I like it. It's definitely recycled from other bits, but that doesn't bother me at all. To me it's just as fun as any of the others.

some people bash it, some people (like me) love it.

not the best but worth getting IMO.

you better try it before buying it or you could be dissapointed...

Even if it isn't as good as past Metal Slugs it is still better than 80% better than the other garbage of games out today. I really enjoyed the game. Does not top Metal Slug X as my favorite Slug game but still very enjoyable.

I think it's pretty okay. Like everyone already said, it may just be an average Slug game, but it's still better then most of the shit out these days. And on top of that, it has really good music.

Metal Slug 4 had a lot to live up too and to be honest it has had a lot of bad press. It is a good game and far better than say MS2!

Only played it on nrx but do like the game, have 1,2& 3 carts on MVS. Will get the MS4 cart at some stage. Also X
Would like the whole series, have a six slot board.
What should I do with the empty slot- Shocktroopers maybe ?

Metal Slug 5 will go further downhill, I beleive we are flogging a dead horse. Metal Slug should be allowed to bow out with dignity imho.

Now, in my opinion, MS3 is the god of Metal Slugs...MS4 is it's "acolyte." (MSX being another god, just smaller

) But to be brief, MS4 is VERY fun, actually does have some innovative ganmeplay, and is a nice little semi-evolution for Metal Slug, I just wish it kept the music similar to MS3 because that music rocks! But MS4 is definitely a good game...

Like I said before, there is NO such thing as a "bad" Metal Slug!

True dat. If you never played the others, you'd enjoy Slug 4. Otherwise, play X and 3 first. Those two games are the heart of the series.

I hope not, the series is awesome, but I think its time to let it go. #4 was stretching it, to go further may put the integrity of the whole series in question. No use flogging a dead horse.
BTW if there is #5 I will buy it

The first time i played MS4 i liked it.
then i went back to play it again, and it was OK.
then like the third day i played it i walked away from the cab i was playing it on.
I got uber bored.
Its not "bad", but it is the worst MS IMO
