I keep hearing about how the U.S. release was tainted. Was there ever an official U.S. KOF 2000 release?

No, sadly.

Nope, only a JPN release. The supposed "English" release was just some faked crap from a few clowns who think they have some big place in the world of Neo Geo, which of course they don't. <img src="graemlins/ohno.gif" border="0" alt="[Oh No]" />

What color is the sky in the world you live in? I bet it's really nice.

This thread is "flame bait" amounting to a cheap way for the NeoGeoFOOLS to garner publicity..
I won't indulge because the answer to the question
IS in the 1st reply..

As noted by others, this is a tired subject, but I think this year at the CGE we finally put the nail in the coffin with Kiselgof making an up-close observation of the printing plates(including most of the inner manual pages), and official paperwork between NGF and SNK.
Not that any of this was really needed, well respected member Nick_the_fury a printing EXPERT already verified one of these plates as official(to the time frame and origin) probably 6 months ago.

Excuse me? Challenge you on technical knowledge? I've had no problems with you personally, nor have I "challenged your technical knowledge", so I don't know what you're talking about. Well actually we debated about whether a rendered 2D game would look as smooth as a traditionally animated one. And that was something mighty dumb that was done a long time ago. Definitely not something you'd want to reference to try and boost your ego.
What I do have a problem with is your "partner" acting like a pussy and bragging about it. Personally Chris, I'm done caring about the shit I hear about you guys, all I do know is that people I trust say you're a good guy and if that's true, then I suggest you remove yourself from all this NGF shit, to at least salvage your own rep.

I've been a serious gamer/collector for the last 15-20 years, and I seriously am amazed with the amount of drama that goes on in the neo scene.
I'm lucky that none of it has personally affected me yet, and all the dealings I've had with the community (mostly n-g.com) has been great.
It seems like it is only a core group of individuals that are ruining it for the rest of us.
*just my honest opinion of course*

Is this you chris or is it ddakis@vtekgroup.com ?
One thing on this topic, and it's entirely for trolling purposes...
They're as official as the orange metal slug x cartridges.

3. NGFools couldnt resist their usual power trip & destroyed original materials to put their names on the cart, including PATHETIC magic marker signatures on the inside of the cart, & NGFool stickers in the manuals
4. A true US release was COMPLETELY destroyed & fumbled out of ego by these two
5. SNK/Playmore see what bafoonery went on with their handling of the release, & switched the responsibility to Shawn who is able to do the job fairly & legitimately.
This is what I think went down

Completely agreed... oh well. One cart lost to the world. Glad I picked up a Jap Version unmolested by gaijin hands.

Nah, I think dion's a jerkoff too, that's you're "Company" and you're both rusty trombone players.
Oh, and you didn't "embarass" me.. you picked out on inaccuracy from a large argument and in standard N G F style, choose to hold that up instead of damning information.
I can't help it if arguing with you is like playing scrabble with Muhhamed Ali.
Thanks and that's my last post.
