I've been playing the game for a couple hours a day for a week now and I have some questions for those who have also put some time into the game.

1. How many Rage of the Dragon characters make an appearence in the game? I have only seen 3 (Elias, Jimmy, and Lynn). I heard Jones was in this, is that true?

2. Why does the wooded stage appear so rarely? I have seen it only 3 or 4 times.

3. Does anyone know why Chinnen pulls a black cat out of his robe? Not that there aren't a million other strange occurences in the game, just didn't know if this had any real meaning besides black cats are supposed to be bad luck.

4. I know there are a couple of eek_2 threads already out there, but why aren't more people discussing this great game?

I've wondered why there aren't more people talking about Matrimelee as well, after all there are only 2 MVS kits left.

I tried to create interesting threads about it, but not too many people kept the conversation going. frown

It looks like this cart will be sitting on the Neo Stores shelves for quite awhile. I have also wondered why there hasn't been any real interest expressed in this game. Even RotD had a bunch of ongoing threads about it. It's almost like the game isn't even out yet.

It's because it is not any good... ROTD is much better in my opinion...

Care to extrapolate on why exactly it isn't 'any good'?

The music is the only thing well done on the game. The game is poorly animated and simply not fun to play. The last boss is rediculously cheap as is most, but a lot of the elements in the stages and play are so damn cheesy...

-I think the animation is fine

-I have a lot of fun playing it

-Princess Sissy is cheap, but beatable. Quit complaining and start practicing. There's a really good thread by Average Joe in the Gameplay forum on tips for beating her

What do you mean by 'a lot of the elements in the stages and play are so damn cheesy...'?

One question:

Does the MVS game have the same problems, as ROTD, with 1-slot boards? I was really disappointed w/ROTD after I found that out.

Thanks guys. :D

Anyone who doesn't like the game can contact me and I'll take it off your hands. I don't have one yet, so I'll be more than happy to give it a home next to my RotD cart. :D

It's being overshadowed by the SVC Chaos coming.

I second Snoop. If it's so bad, give the rest of us a shot at it :)

Because now that the reviews are done, it's time to figure the game out! Link to gameplay

I completely disagree with your opinion.

Matrimelee is the only game released in the past 2 years worth the release price (since Metal Slug 3). The game has everything it needs to be great. It is better than Waku Waku 7, which isn't too hard ot accomplish considering the underachiever cast of WW7 (7 story characters + 2 bosses, versus Matrimelee's 20 story mode playable characters). I have been extremely satisfied with Matrimelee so far, and highly recommend it to anyone.

better than ww7? really? eek!
Why is that surprising?

What made WW7 so great?

It had good music and a wacky cast of characters.

Matrimelee has much better music, and a much larger wacky cast of characters + some serious characters. There's a balance between humor and seriousness that WW7 didn't really have. As for the animation, I think it's good for hte most part. The 4 new characters have great animation if you ask me (Olof, Bun, Shin, and Hikaru).

Initially, I loved WW7 because there wasn't another fighter like it. Weird, funny, and beautiful. But I feel like Matrimelee has successfully pushed WW7 into the passenger side, which is great because we've been waiting like 6.5 years for such a game. This is why I'm so happy with it.

I have already logged in almost 2x as many hours in Matrimelee as I have with RotD (which is infinitely more than I logged in with KoF 2002 and 2001 collectively). That's how good it is.

i only watched the vids of matrimelee and thought, that it plays way too slow to be a fun game.

As fast as WW7. Control is very smooth. However, some moves are hard to pull off due to being physically complicated (ex: Chinnen).
