Hello to any and all Sigma owners:

I've got a 4-slot MVS mobo and a crappy MAS SuperNova that just took a shit. I'm seriously considering buying a Sigma unit from Nikke, but I wanted some info from folks before I commit to buying one.

I've got a nice 36" TV with S-Video...is the SVideo from this unit really nice?

I'm interested in playing not only MVS but also CPS1/2 games that rhyme with Meat Slider. The pics I've seen of the Sigma don't show any wiring for the kick button harness coming off...am I missing something?

Any testimonials or info you people could offer me would be greatly appreciated. I'm weighing buying one of these vs. getting a nice cab. A cab seems like a simpler solution, but I LOVE playing games on my RCA tube....give me some advice peeps!

The S-video on the Sigma is as good as any other system that has s-video. It's perfect. No distortion, wavey lines or anything like that. You'll be very happy with the Sigma. I have the Super Nova and the Sigma and the Sigma is by far the better unit in terms of s-video quality. Lots of color bleed with the Super Nova.

S-Video will be the best picture you can get on your TV with any gun, should look pretty good, much better than composite

Hi there Loopz, I have owned all 3 guns (HG, MAS, and the Sigma 6000 I have now), and the Sigma is by FAR the best. The S-video quality is on-par with a modded high serial# AES console. I was like you, the MAS just did not cut it for me, the S-vid bled like a stuck pig.

One thing with the Sigma - there are no RCA audio out jacks, and sound is pulled through the same cord as the video connection. Unfortunately, the Sigma S-video cord does not incorporate the sound (go figure). There is a headphone jack that will supply stereo, or you can have the cord modified/custom made. It's weird, the composite cable incorporates stereo sound, so you can pull stereo from the composite side.

The harness works great BTW, and will easily accomodate any jamma board, including meat strider :D The harness has a test switch built in and is convenient.

Also, the Sigma joy ports are FULLY compatible with Neo Geo home controllers which is very nice.

Sigma sticks are among the best quality I've ever seen - arcade quality all the way. The shells are metal and the buttons are competition quality. I have the 8000 and love it.

Still, I am a believer that there is nothing quite like true RGB on a cab (I have both), but the Sigma is still a great option.

Hope this helps

I have the Raijin, and its picture quality is great even on regular AV (it's hooked to a Sony 35"). Its JAMMA harness could be a tad longer, however.

Thanx a lot guys. Its still a tough decision, but I think space concerns are beginning to win out and I'm leaning toward a Sigma. Nothing beats a big screen for the fighting games!

Anyone have any idea how to solder the kick buttons into the Sigma 6000?
