MVS vs AES post-SvCC

Ok folks, here's a question that I've been pondering since trying to decide myself whether the lack of a true-MVS version of the upcoming SNK games (as I assume none of the new games will be MVS but instead continuing to be Jamma-based) would sway my stance on AES vs MVS.

I have yet to buy my own system, instead using my sway over a local coin-oper to keep him stocking games I want (alas, his 4 slots will never see SvCC), however given my want to not have to drop quarters like a 2-bit ho, I now want my gaming fix at home on something better then a PS2 (even with the xarcade controller... its not the same).

Does the lack of support to the MVS platform make an AES even more desirable now? Or will you MVS owners simply go and buy the Jamma board set-up to play the SvCC, SS0, etc instead? (Or, not to open up the thread for flames, will you buy a bootleg version that gets put out on MVS, should they start to exist [which I think is probably a safe bet after the AES release])?

I'm curious cause I still don't know what I'm going to do about it...

Whos to say that if they stop making games for mvs then they surely will stop making games for the aes too, after all if each mvs title from now on will just be a jamma hybrid board or whatever they are called then it will cost them more money to produce aes carts as would have to change the way the chips work and code.

in a few weeks time once the hybrid board drops to less than 500 bucks i can afford it,. i wonder id ss zero will also be a hybrid board

Sure the Hybrid board is great for many reasons , bla bla bla ... whatever .

If theres no more MVS carts , to me the Neo Geo is dead .

Once they stop makeing AES carts , you home system owners will feel the pain that us MVS owners feel .

overreacting . . . You'll see an MVS cart, probably by the time the AES is released.

Mark my words.

Well, I am not sure about the MVS release myself, but, I will tell you this... I'd much rather play SvsC on my cab, so that being said I wouldn't even dream of buying a home system just to play it... I guess I will just have to go with the board!

I suppose I should actually answer my own topic:
I love the coin-op, love the feel of a stick, and no matter how great the aes is, there's still something missing about having the stick (and not quite an arcade stick either, although close) sitting in your lap.
That said, I'll buy an AES first as I don't currently have space for a proper cab in my apartment, and getting a consolized, while cool, just isn't the same.
As for SvCC coming to MVS, I would honestly highly doubt it, the price for the Jamma may keep dropping, but it's not worth SNKP shooting themselves in the foot by releasing another arcade version, as then the arcade ops might well see no reason to buy the Jamma board for the next game. just my thought process on it, and SNKP Is looking to make money, not just work for the fans... no matter how much we may wish it to be otherwise.

Hmm...

Well all I have to say is, after having my AES for 12 1/2 years, I'm so used to it that if I had a choice, I wouldn't want to play NEO games on anything else but with my own TV and my own original joysticks.

And I truly love it that way.

Buy a candy cab, I bought my SC-19" candy and haven't look back since. These are great little cabs.

If you want super overpriced games that are frequently substandard, but want to collect all the neat Neo Geo art and boxes then I'd go for the AES. If you'd rather just buy the couple of good games there are and play them then MVS is the way to go. The SvC boards will come down in price pretty soon, as will any other game they release.
