How do I print MVS spine labels on a normal printer?

I've downloaded a few Shock Box spine labels from the following site:

<a href="http://www.spicken.de/s_g/mvs_cart_sticker/" target="_blank">http://www.spicken.de/s_g/mvs_cart_sticker/</a>

The problem is that I can't get them to print correctly in MS Paint. I know that they can be printed on standard printers as normal printing paper is more than long enough. I want to know how because I plan on buying some Shock Boxes off BB. So can anyone please give me some advice on how to print these?

You have to do a right click and save them as a zip file. For example, AOF3.zip or SS2.zip and so on. Then just open up the zip file and extract the image.

After you unzip what do the files state?
You probably be able to print them out within Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro.

The labels in the link you posted are sized for the MVS carts and not the shockbox spine.

If it prints out too big then the problem should be related with MSPaint which doesnt respect the images DPI's, try using another program if that is your problem.

Ok, I downloaded Paint Shop Pro. Now how do I go about printing my SS2 MVS label with it's correct size?

i used photoshop and printed them at 100%

those stickers are uploaded as zip files now :
<a href="http://www.daddelkingz.de/mvs_sticker.html" target="_blank">www.daddelkingz.de/mvs_sticker.html</a>

<a href="http://www.spicken.de" target="_blank">www.spicken.de</a> is dedicated to students and their school/university related stuff. that's why they deleted all those zipped files once. when i realized that all files where gone, i decided to fool those suckers by using the .txt extension.
evil me. :D

you will get bmp images by unzipping the zipped files.

edit #2 :

i'll ask KGenjuro to upload the new metal slug 4 sticker at <a href="http://www.daddelkingz.de/mvs_sticker.html" target="_blank">www.daddelkingz.de/mvs_sticker.html</a> , too. i almost forgot it.

You should be able to just load the image up in PSP and use the "print" option within the program
.It should print the label out @ the size it was intended by the creator..

the original size is 1680 mm x 200 mm. just in case that you have to resize them.

1 inch = 254 mm

btw : i'm "the creator". <img src="graemlins/drool.gif" border="0" alt="[Drool]" />

I still can't get it to print out correctly. Sorry guys, but I know nothing about printing these things. I've changed the size a dozen times and it still comes out small. Could you please describe step-by-step on how I can print these things in PSP?

They are small because they are replacement stickers for the Carts themselves and not for shockboxes.

you can always try to start a new project or "draw" a black frame with the right measurements : 1680 mm x 200 mm
next thing to do is resizing the label till it perfectly fits the frame.

sorry. i never used psp and explaining it in english is a little hard.

Load the label image in your PSP,it will pop up in the horizontal position...immediately go to the menu and click on "IMAGE",hold window and move down to "ROTATE" and click...Okay,now you are in the lil resize option screen...
Your direction should be RIGHT so click that keep your degrees @ 90..alright,click OKAY...
Your image should be in that position when you re save it.

Okay..You go to the menu and you click on "IMAGE",hold the window and move down to "RESIZE" and click that...Okay,now you are in the lil' resize option screen...Now what you want to do is remove the check mark from the box stating "maintain aspect ratio.."
You will then be able to plug your values in
without interruption from PSP attempting to maintain the aspect of the image.
I am not clear on what you are attempting to do with the image?? If you are trying to size it into a spine for the actual case itself I use the values 169 pixel width and 888 pixel height.
You will notice that the image is abit stretched now and does'nt look good BUT it will be the correct size for the spine of a SHOCK BOX once printed..now we have to figure out how to make it more legible...
Is this what you are trying to do?
Resizing the label this way will allow you to bring the image up in a web browser and PRINT..without the use of any paint program.
You will be able to pass this along to someone, they bring it up in their web browser and JUST PRINT
If you attempt to PRINT this image using an advanced paint prg like PSP it will print out really tiny.. It is now compatible with lame windows paint though
Please explain exactly what you wish to do and I can help..
Thankyou-BB

Oh, so you are satisfied with the stretched loook?? Now that I know this is what you intended to do I can work on this to make it look more legible
..Okay.. What I did was is once we've established the correct print size of the image...I Goto the "EDIT" option on the menu main screen and select COPY
..then I go back to the "EDIT" option and select PASTE as NEW IMAGE
..Okay now once you do this..delete your original file by pressing the lil' windows"X"
..now load it back up by going to the main menu option "FILE",the original label file should be listed @ the bottom..just take your cursor down to it and PSP will load it back up in it's original state.
Okay Now what you will have is the file "IMAGE#1(whatever psp named it)" which is the correct print size and the original file on screen
..COOL.
Now what you want to do is resize the original file but keep the "maintain aspect ratio" box checked...goto the pixel area and type in 169 for the width..the height will be like 14?? pixel..This does'nt matter because what you want to do is copy the Neo Geo logo,Game title and # block and paste them to the "IMAGE#1" file which is the correct SHOCK BOX spine size so it will be legible
.. and how you do this is you select that rectangular looking box called "SELECTION" in between the 4 arrows and what appears to be a rope on the main menu...

NOW you want to click and hold the left button on the mouse and surround the image area you want to capture and copy, don't let go of the left mouse button until you've surrounded what you want.

...now what you will see is the box you made looking like some force field surrounding what you wanted.
You go to the "EDIT" option in the main menu and select COPY.. NOW after that activate "IMAGE#1",the file that is sized to fit the shock case spine by tapping your mouse button in the area where the name of the image is @(was grey, should be blue after you activate it)

NOW goto the "EDIT" command, select PASTE as new selection and whatever you captured should pop up..now move your selection wherever you wish, hold down the left mouse button to move it around and right mouse button to finalize position
...UNDO comes in handy if you make mistakes ...

Also if you get a checkered backround that means you have multiple layers..you don't want this so if you see it,make sure you goto "LAYERS" on the main menu and select MERGE (All Flatten)

Here is what I came up with:<a href="http://www.netreach.net/~scop/adkshock.jpg" target="_blank">SHOCK BOX SPINE NOW!!!</a>
I saved the file as a JPG and you should be able to print the image from your printer..
Anybody understand this?? <img src="graemlins/glee.gif" border="0" alt="[Glee]" />
