Played some more SvC today.

Ken is my favorite - much props to SNKP.

Iori is crazy. SNKP missed the target on making him equal in strength to the other characters.

He almost reminds me of a mini boss in terms of difficulty.

Overall I am even more impressed with the game then the last time I played it.

I can't wait to pre-order.

I need this for MVS man.

Maybe SNKP is making up for Capcom turning Iori into a complete pussy in CvS2.

He may be a pussy in CvsS2 but I still kick ass with him in it!

Are you kidding?! Iori is a badass in CvS2! Definitely in the top 10.

I've seen some great people play with him, but he just didn't connect as well as he did in the kofs IMHO. I think Capcom did a much better job with Kyo and Terry, they're perfect.

Well they are two different gaming systems. In CvS2, Iori is just sick. Saying he's a pussy just isn't true. The bitch has a longass roll, combos out the ass, and NICE priorities with his normals. It's also excellent to chain a few crouching LPs into his qcb + P x3. You have to keep your defenses up hardcore, because Iori can combo from just about anything in this game.

He is sick in CvS2, but Capcom really toned him down. They made Orochi Iori good, but the made him weak as hell though.

Toned him down from what? KOF? The game isn't KOF. I don't get why people say things like this. It's a completely different game and within this game/engine he is a complete badass.

Iori does play good the way Capcom made him, but I'm just saying that he play's much better in the KOF games.

He is a badass in the game, I can dominate with any groove.

Iori kicks ass in CVS2, his voice sounds good, Capcom designed him well. Capcom did very good job with designed the backgrounds and the sprites, and the gameplay in CVS2. If you don't have this game in your PS2 libary, get it now! You won't regret it.

I dunno, I still prefer Orochi Iori and Kyo.

Sort of back on topic...other than the issue with Iori, are there any other balance problems in SvC? I haven't played it yet and I'm curious to see how Genjuro stacks up against, say, Ryu or any of the shotos.

Speaking of CvS2's Iori, he really is a good character to use even though he does play like how he does in KOF.His moves have insane reach and priority.
As for Orochi Iori in CvS2, he has the ability to combo into his maiden masher DM/SDM after his deadly flowers(2 hits).
C.b->C.a->deadly flowers(2 hit)->maiden masher DM.Must be done in a corner.

As for SvC:C, Iori's cross-over games are sick.He could also dash in with a combo after his scum gale.It connects. He even has some moves which he lost in KOF 2000-2002.DP+B/D and his qcf,qcf+B/D DM.

Orochi Iori is even more overpowered. He can combo from his F+A and he is very fast.

I still say that Terry is the only broken character. Iori flows nice but he has trouble getting damage when he really needs it. Terry has a zillion ways to get damage whenever he wants it and can kill you whenever he feels like it.

Personally I think Terry's Buster Wolf is a little cheap, because:
1) it comes out very fast
2) it can go the entire screen
3) it does excellent damage, even if just the 1st hit connects
4) it has obscenely high priority

That's my only gripe i have. Iori is definitely strong, but not much different than his KoF '99 incarnation aside from the 2001 SDM followup.

Genjuro seemed a little slow but I think his damage more than makes up for it.

Granted, I didn't get a lot of playtime with it at Otakon, but so far I think this is an extremely well-balanced game. I'm a little annoyed by the fact that you can't run OR roll, but I guess I just need to get used to it. :)

1 major difference that we didn't run into much at the con but has popped up since then: Iori has insane autoguard on the late portions of the dp+K and qcfx2+K moves. It changes the use of that move entirely because it is always dangerous when Iori has enough time to pull it.
