it is but you have to remember that when playing on mame an average game is good on the real thing and a good game is fantastic on the real thing. there shouldn't be differences but there most definatly ARE!

just never finish that game u like on the emu. buy it and experiance it propely

What are the PC reqirements to run this Mame 32??
I am emulator IGNORANT but in the future I plan on using one for sprite rips, web page maybe,etc..

So again, what must be your PC requirements to actually get a game running smoothly on this mame 32?
But to actually "play games on emulator", Oh never
that....
My head would probably EXPLODE..I would loathe it soo much..preview a game?? Maybe..but I believe I played just about everyone with the exception of a few..

I use the emulator to take screen shots for the reviews I write based on playing the real games in an MVS cabinet. I've also used the emulator to try out future MVS purchases, and I've bought a good amount of software that way.

It's nice that these games will never truly die. But nothing beats the real thing.

I also use it to see if I may want to buy a game I have never played.

It pretty much sucks for actually playing games on though. It just dosent have the same feel that the real thing does.

For me only the real title on MVS will do.

MAME Cabinet/Dedicated MAME setup. Can't argue with that.

I gaurantee that I could put MAME up on a TV vs the real deal and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Even more so on a cab.

Plug a TV through the VGA port on a HDTV and turn mame on. Plug in real arcade controls and try and find the differences.

Sorry I know I've been through this a million times already but I won't allow it to go unsaid in one of "these" topics...

PS. MAME 32 is a perfectly good EMU to play Neo games on. Just use a fast machine and you're set!

The purpose of mame is to play not only NG, but also many classic arcade games that never had any real console port (ie: Rygar, Final Flight), but I've had a few mame roms downloaded not working properly. For Neo-Geo, I'd say use NeorageX, much more user-friendly. There're still a few sites offering roms, like this one:

<a href="http://wandelai.myrice.com/tv-games/neogeo/" target="_blank">http://wandelai.myrice.com/tv-games/neogeo/</a>

Just a note, no KOF2K1 or MS4 roms, Playmore is cracking down very hard on it.
