Hey all, this is my first post here.

Just needed a few answers in regard to CVS Chaos and figured this would be the place to get them.

Firstly, I'm very curious as to why SNK seems to have decided to leave Yamazaki out of its newest fighter. He has an excellent background, a refreshingly different fighting style, and certainly seems to be fairly popular, and as others have commented, he's probably one of SNK's most original characters.
I actually thought he'd end up being the next 'boss' character. He's an orphan who fought to the top of the crime world, and he possesses orochi blood (which he won't let control him).
Imagine if Yamazaki was to finally harness the power of his Orochi blood, and become essentially SNK's new Rugal. I think it'd be a recipe for success.
Hell, even just his inclusion as a regular character would certainly make the game more attractive as a whole. There's a LOT of Shoto characters in there so far, and Yamazaki would add some balance.

Now, having just complained about the amount of Shotos, I'm also going to lobby for Dan's inclusion (perhaps just as a secret character).
Surely SNK must be tempted to take Dan to the 'next level'.
Make him a capable fighter this time around, and have him beat shit out of Capcom's bad-boy pin-up Sagat as his ending. Use their own joke against them.

Cheers all
Daz

Great first post, and welcome to the boards.

As for why Yamazaki and Dan weren't included...

There are probably hundreds of characters in the SNK and CAPCOM universes, but only twenty or so slots to fill in the SVC roster.

Both SNK (whoops, I mean PLAYMORE) and CAPCOM are under a lot of pressure to include enough of their flagship characters in the game, so most of the slots are taken up by them. Then they've got to add a few strange ones (ie. Choi, Hugo), a few out-of-the-blue-ones (ie. Mr.Karate, Tabasa), and a few boss types (ie. Vega), and the next thing you know, the roster's filled.

Yeah, it's too bad they passed up Yamazaki, but they passed up a lot of other equally deserving characters (I'm still waiting for the return of Eiji to a game).

There's no way they'll be able to make everyone happy. Lots of people's favourite characters are going to be left out.

The way I look at it is that we should just be glad the game finally got made at all!

LOL, nah, I like Choi and Chang.

Yamazaki, Dan and Vega are the three best 2d fighting characters ever. At least one of them got into SVC Chaos I guess.

I used to use Gen-An and Earthquake on Samurai Shodown, so I might have to give earthquake a run this time around.

While I'm ranting, I want to complain about how overpowered Blanka is in Capcom vs SNK 2. oh_no
