Sorry for being unknowing Er... i was curious if anyone here is from around the New Jersey area and knows if theres any good arcades that would have up to date Neo Geos, only place I've seen up to date ones, like newer KOFs or SvC:C is in a fast food resturaunt where the only challenge I get is five year old button mashers...-_-.

Thanks

I haven't found one yet..I'm still looking though..

I went to Pt. Pleasant beach today and none of the many arcades on the boardwalk had anything SNK/Neo Geo.

Hey, cool, I just went there on Saturday. Saw some fine women but few interesting games in those arcades. They mostly have novelty machines and games to win tickets, too. The coolest thing I saw there was the Multicade.

NJ pretty much sucks for good arcades. There is one in the Burlington Mall if you live down south around my area. It does have Metal Slug 4 in it along with AOF, SS4 and I think NAM 75. They also have a MvC2 machine, a SF3: Next Generation cab, and an Alpha 3 machine.

Bout as good as it gets for 2D fighters. There are some decent places in Philly for competition but hardly anything Neo wise. frown

Damn it seems there is a ton of N.J. people on these forums.

As far as up to date MVS machines go, the greatest machines in the state are probably owned by collecters.
There is one in my town with a SS2 and Puzzle Bobble, thats about it around me.

Eight on the Break in Dunellen is passable. They used to specialize in Capcom fighters but have really moved over to various bemani games as that's what draws in the crowd now. Absolutely no love for SNK there though, all you'll ever see is Metal Slug or PB.

My only piece of advice is to go to China Town Fair in Manhattan. You can reach Manhattan by any Path train which can be easily reached by bus or use one of the many Fairies used to get across the river or just take the train directly into Manhattan. The best route will depend on where you live but either way you’ll have some distant to walk in order to get to china town unless you take either a city bus, taxi, or the MTA subway but don’t bother taking your car because of the countless things that can happen.

I'm staying in Hoboken so I just take the Path into Manhattan and just walk to China Town. Its a long ass walk so I don't go there that often and it would be easier to just take the fairy but it cost $6 round trip compared to $3 round trip for the path.

There's a comic shop in Princeton that has 2 2-slot MVSes running.
One has Magic Drop and Garou:MotW on it
the other has SS2 and Metal SlugX
Its pretty easy to find as its on the second floor over the Burger King on 27 (aka Nasau St) called Knight Dreams. (It also happens to be owned by AMV and fan-parody god Scott Meltzer (This is Otakudom and a Slew of award winning AMVs)).
If anyone ever drops buy drop me a pm first as I work in town and will be happy to show people around.

I was going there Sunday after Pt.Pleasant beach but it started to rain real hard.

I was going to ask the owner to sell me this cab..but I haven't had the chance.
The joysticks are real loose on this cab. :D

LOL! Thats the one!
I was actually thinking about trying to buy it from them too. :D They dont have the machine by the door anymore, I havent been in there in awhile so I dont know if they moved it or totally got rid of it.
That was the only cabinet in my area that had Samurai Shodown 2 when it was new, so I spent tons of time on that machine.
I worked in Bev & Wally's arcade for 3 years, between 95 and 98.
I've been in this town almost 20 years, do you know where Ramsey Ave is? Thats where I'm at

So there is one machine in the public arena in New Jersey and two of you are trying to take it out? I bet all the Neo machines are sitting in people's basements all over New Jersey!

I know a few arcades in Jersey with Neo's.

8 on the Break has 2 one slots. One has Metal Slug4, the other Nightmare in the Dark. They are supposed to be getting Chaos soon, I'll let you know. Some of my friends go there all the time to play the Bemani games.

Seaside Heights has 2 Neo's. One has a VERY VERY shitty screen and it has Puzzle Bobble in it. Avoid that POS.

The other has Magical Drop3, Metal Slug1, Samuari Showdown 4 and Puzzle Bobble 2.

Thats one of my favorite places to go, just because I can play MD3 with some of my friends, and the machine is in great shape.

If your down at Seaside Heights you owe it to yourself to check out FlashBacks. Its a part of one arcade that has all 80's games. They even have the Hercules pinball machine. And a REAL Star Wars arcade.

I can make a whole day of going to The Break then the Seaside. I hate you people in Jersey, Long Island has crap for fun arcades and things. I got nothing!!! crying

Actually I think it might be. Everyone I knew growing up had a system and whenever we had nothing to do we would just battle it out in streetfighter. Just another reason why I love Jersey buttrock

I go in there often...The last time I went in Fun N'Games they didn't have anything Neo..
But they could have something now since they change machines often.
That's the mall I buy all my New system games from..
