I'm having difficulty booting up kof 99 jp(also in some other homecarts) in mvs mode..

I think my system has neo-geo.com's debug bios..

anybody else has this problem?

Later carts are protected.

You need to stard a game in home mode then switch to MVS mode. You'll then be able to add credits.

I can definitely confirm this. I have this problem with KoF '99, Rage, Slug 3, etc. all newer games.

can someone show me how to do this? And in the debug mode, what is the difference between a "restart" and a "default restart" ?
thanks

Yeah, this happens to me with every homecart game I try to boot up in MVS mode.

I just wait until after the NEO GEO start up screen to toggle on the debug BIOS MVS mode, then there's no problems.

It'll also occur after you beat a game, if you leave it on MVS mode it will freeze up again upon restarting.

Wrong.

I have also Metal Slug 3 ( US ) and it works wonderfully in MVS mode.

Maybe the jap run of that game is diferent ? We know there were 2 production runs of it.

But my MS3 works perfectly. wink

Hey, I'm just stating what happens with my cart. I have no idea about a second production run, I'm only speaking from experience.

BTW, the problem I was referring to was this(taken from Robert Wallace's thread):

<a href="http://home.attbi.com/~robert.wallace/warning.JPG" target="_blank">http://home.attbi.com/~robert.wallace/warning.JPG</a>

I've never been able to successfully boot up any of my 93-96 era JPN homecarts in MVS mode using the debug BIOS.

I always get that copyright screen.
