Had a freakin amazing time. I did just about everything including going to Neo-Geo land. (pics forthcoming)

I'll post more about it later but I wanted to thank beelzebubble for the directions to bad that between our two schedules we couldn't get together. Also wanted to say that hanging out with tsukaesugi was awesome as well as running into eight-one in a PCB store was fun. Thanks to you two for showing me around Akihabara.

I'll post more later when I have the energy to think.

EDIT: Pics that I took EXCLUDING Neo Geo Land are now online http://tiger.towson.edu/~mkochi1/

I had to spend so much time editing everything else not gonna bother with the Neo stuff since Shawn is just gonna have em up soon I hope.

Yeah glad you posted the link to that thread or I would have missed it.

Sawn is gonna host the Neo-Geo land pics. In a few days I'll have all the pics of my trip up online and I link to our drunken pic for sure :p

I would like to visit a PCB store. In each arcadia issue, I look with a lot of attention the ads they put. Japan will be mine one day (but when???)

P.S: neo geo lan pics needed.

Did you go the Neo Geo Land in Esaka right across the street from the Neo-Geo headquarters (now, I guess, Playmore headquarters)? I have pics of that place too. It was pretty sweet.

Glad to see you're back. :)

The PCB stores were Amazing I walked into one that just had half a dozen Sigma's sitting around on shelves.

eek!

And to make things worse, I bet they were all 6000's and had s-video cables. crying What were they, a couple hundred bucks apiece?

I finally got mine awhile back, but I had to kill myself to find an s-vid cable.

This sounds awesome, can't wait to see the pics man.

What kind of PCB's did they have for sale? I see a Neo MVS sticker in the far right corner of that pic, they got good MVS cart prices, Hyper, STV?

BTW, if you go to Japan, is it feasible to stay in Tokyo and take a train over to Kyoto for some sight seeing, or is it too far of a ride?

They had at least one sigma with a S-video hooked up to the TV. I think they were AROUND 35000 yen (about 300 bucks) I didn't look to closely since I already have a super gun. That store had a decent number of MVS carts there was another one that had around 60 unique carts for good prices. I saw Hypers and just about everything everywhere.

Jhendrix. If you go to Japan and stay in Tokyo Kyoto is like a 2 and a half hour ride on the Bullet train. Do what I did and get a JR pass. I got a one week pass for like $250 but that lets you ride all JR lines with no other charges and that includes Bullet train. I almost wish I got a pass that lasted the whole time it was very convienant. Kyoto though is only one bullet train stop North of Osaka and since I'd recomend going there as well I'd say stay in Osaka for a few days and hit Kyoto for one of them.

Hey Tsukaesugi! My Shenmue is inoperable at the moment. It's not playing through VGA on my USA Dreamcast. I'm working on it though. Thanks for asking!

Well, good luck with it. PM me your address and I'll try and get you that book about moving to Japan (lol, you'll have to share it with Evil Mike).

Question for you: how much Japanese do you speak? Were you able to get around and function w/o a naitive or fluent speaking friend to help you?

I've taken two semsters in school. So I know a little. The first half of our trip our professor basically showed us how shit worked. The second half he went to see his family and we were fine. I mean we made it from Osaka to Tokyo to a little town in Saitama on our own. So if you have someone show you the ropes you'll definetly be fine. As for making it around yourself you can probably do it but it'll be an adventure I think.

Pics are now online. Nothing with Neo Geo Land on my page since Shawn is working on them and I already had to spend alot of time making thumbs and shit.

What is up is everything non-neo that I took.
