Part III - The Finale

Finaly home:
Done.jpg

Subrtact off about 50 miles for a misunderstanding between me and Mr. MapQuest.

Looks like it arrived safely. Please no cracks about my redneck truck. Or if you really want to have a field day: I sold my Audi A4 and bought the truck.

I swear, I had no idea how little the candy cabs are. Sure, they have a 25" monitor, but man! I look forward to playing it, but I think I will still prefer the stand up cabs.

Thanks again to Nathan, his wife Elizabeth, and Drew for their hospitality. I wish I could have stayed longer, but like I said, it was 13 hours round trip.

Now I can take it all apart tonight and spend hours working on the wiring...

I mean, now I can take my wife out to dinner and um....

I gotta go.

Cool. Are all Candy Cabs that small?? I have to get one of those in the furture...although it looks like something I may have to have an adjustable stool for..hmm,wonder if I would be comfortable sitting down...
Hey Briggs, this would also make for a nice section on your webpage.I found it to be a pretty relaxing read :)

I guess so. Obviously the 29" ones are a bit bigger, but I think this is pretty standard. Nathan sent me the measurements before I went:

>>The cab is 52 1/2 inches tall, 25 inches wide and 34 inches deep.

I may add it to the webpage, but I have a huge stack of other stuff to add first. Glad you enjoyed it.

In the garage there are:

3 Neo Geo MVS cabs
Irem Madonna (candy)
Stargate
Defender
Donkey Kong
and a conversion project. I also have a converted MK III Ulitimate in the basement. Way too much stuff.

Somebody PLEASE come buy some of my cabs!

How comfortable is that button configuration?
Is that the normal button configuration?
Also I hope you had the opportunity to refuel :)

I wish I could buy one of your Neo Geo MVS cabs...they look so damned nice. Distance is too far unfortunately. :( Are they all 4 slot cabs?? Sounds like you've got a nice collection of stuff though. :)

Great story!

I really HATE it when people post stories and don't post pics. Many pics = good. Good = Sex. You get my point anyway :D

I really enjoyed that. I'd like to see more threads like this one. Maybe someone could document a Neo-Geo party. It might help build interest in them.

Thank you for sharing your journey 'South to Mississippi' with us. Just nosey...why do you have so many MVS cabs in your house? Is hosting in house arcade tournaments a hobby of yours?

:) :) :) :)

Great read. I love hearing real-life stories that don't involve one side being screwed by the other. :D

I have a 25" Candy and I am 6'4". Have not had a problem playing them at all. I've bought stools from a couple different places but I have found the new stools from Ikea are the best. Both Target and a barstool place let me down, the Ikea stools are the sturdiest and most comfortable I've found. They even come in cool colors as well. It is best not to get collapsable ones as they can not support anything over 200 pounds very well and I weigh 240.

It's straight up Jamma. I want to make it at least 4 buttons, and hopefully 6 but it will be pretty tight.

It must have been the additional 300+ miles to your house that turned me off. Course, if you had a free cab waiting on me...
